information as your own no matter what. You may print it out though but you
cannot sell it. I am no longer taking contributions for the FAQ so stop sending

NOTE
****
I had just started doing this guide again. I am now using a different word
processor to do it. The word processor I am currently using is very confusing
so I am having to manually press enter each time I make a new line. Because of
this, everything that is new in the guide as of 01-28-03 will look weird
compared to everything else in terms of length of characters per line. I hope
this doesn't cause too much of an inconvenience for you when viewing the
guide. Anyways, enjoy.
=============================================================================
Welcome to Vice City. Welcome to the 1980s.
Having just made it back onto the streets of Liberty City after a
long stretch in maximum security, Tommy Vercetti is sent to Vice
City by his old boss, Sonny Forelli. They were understandably
nervous about his re-appearance in Liberty City, so a trip down
south seemed like a good idea. But all does not go smoothly upon
his arrival in the glamorous, hedonistic metropolis of Vice City.
He's set up and is left with no money and no merchandise. Sonny
wants his money back, but the biker gangs, Cuban gangsters, and
corrupt politicians stand in his way. Most of Vice City seems to
want Tommy dead. His only answer is to fight back and take over
the city himself.
From the decade of big hair, excess and pastel suits comes a story
of one man's rise to the top of the criminal pile as Grand Theft
Auto returns to the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system
this October. Vice City is a huge urban sprawl ranging from the
beach to the swamps and the glitz to the ghetto, and is the most
varied, complete and alive digital city ever created. Combining
non-linear gameplay with a character driven narrative, you arrive
in a town brimming with delights and degradation and are given
the opportunity to take it over as you choose.
As a major gateway to South America and the Caribbean and attracting
migrants, Vice City is brimming with diverse characters, so there's
a friend for everyone. It is a sociable place and the new guy in
town is sure to meet all manner of friendly people in the sunshine
capital of America. Athletes, pop stars, real estate developers,
politicians, trailer trash, everyone is moving to Vice City to find
out what makes it the number one growth city in America. But, as
Tommy quickly finds out, trust is still the rarest of commodities.
Vice City offers vehicular pleasures to suit every taste. For the
speed enthusiast, there's high-performance cars and motorbikes.
For the sportsman, a powerboat or a golf buggy lets you enjoy the
great outdoors. For those that need that sense of freedom and escape,
why not charter a helicopter and see the beauty of Vice City from the
air?
As the party capital of America, you would expect your ears to be seduced
by a host of sultry melodies and pumping beats, but the city is truly
rocking. You'll be AMAZED as you sweep through Vice City's FM dial. If
you are feeling like trouble, you can tune into some driving rock, or
some crucial electro, or maybe you want to slow down with some sweet
soul, and there will always be some great romantic anthems if you want
to really take your mind off things.
For the action man, or outdoors type, there's tons of fun things to do
and adventures to be had… guaranteed. For the secretive or creepy type,
Vice City is full of surprises, a place where you'll constantly be
surprised by the vivacious, fun-loving types who live there and the
things you can discover.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is the most diverse and ambitious piece
of interactive entertainment yet created. The game is developed by
Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games.

Since this is a very large FAQ, you may want to make it easier to find
the thing you need. View the whole Table Of Contents and when you find
the thing you need, hold Control (CTRL) and press the letter F. A screen
should pop up and then you can type in the section you are looking for.
For example, if you are looking for weapons locations, you would hold Control,
press F, and then type Weapons Locations in the box because that would be the
section that best suits your needs.

Getting Started
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Really Basic Things
This part of the FAQ is for people who have never played a GTA game before.
Wasted: This means you died. You will now respawn at the hospital closest to
you and you will have no more weapons and less cash.
Health: It's basically the amount of life you have.
Armor: Armor is just like health. It is basically life.
Wanted Level: Your Wanted Level appears when you have committed
a crime and an officer of the law has seen you do it.
The Wanted Level is measured on a scale of 1 to 6 stars.
According to how much destruction you do, you will get
so many stars. If you have just one star, police will arrest
you.
Game Time: The game time is presented in military time.
Each minute in the game is a second in real life. So that means
that if you play for one minute, an hour will go by in the game.
Money: You will earn money for all sorts of things in the game.
You get money for doing missions, killing people, doing R3 missions,
and a lot more. Money is pretty scarce at the beginning of the game,
but will get easier to find later in the game.
Weapons: You will need weapons for this game. There is no way to get
through it without causing violence and havoc. There are weapons
scattered around Vice City and you can buy weapons at Ammunations,
tool shops, and Phil's Place after you finish missions for
him.
Busted: This means the police arrested you. You will now respawn at the
closest police station and have no more weapons and less cash.
Radar: The radar is used to guide you from one location to another and tells
you where to go next. It shows roads, grass, sand, water, and lots
of other crap.
Cell Phone: This is used to receive missions from more bosses.
Safe Houses: You can save your game at the safe houses that you own. You can
buy more as you get enough money. At some safe houses, weapons will appear
according to how many hidden packages you have collected.
Pink Circles: Pink circles appear when there is a place to
start a mission. To start a mission, just walk into a pink
circle.
Map: When you press start, you can view a map of Vice City.
This helps a lot and will cause you to not get confused as easy
as you did back in GTA III.
Property: You can buy a lot of stuff in the game ranging
from businesses to safe houses. You can save at safe houses
and store cars there. At businesses you buy, you can do missions
and get money everyday if you pass all of the missions for a business.
============================================================================
Game Basics
============================================================================
This section explains basic things in the game. Thanks to Minesweeper for the
whole thing.
===================
Running And Walking
===================
To run while on foot, hold down the X button. Until you get the Infinite Run
powerup from the Paramedic mission, you will run out of breath after a period
of time and you'll have to walk at a normal speed until Tommy can catch his
breath again. Despite this, run as much as possible. The more time you spend
running, the longer Tommy can run without catching his breath. Even without
the powerup though, there is a way to keep running for a much longer time.
Keep tapping X while you run, and you'll be able to sprint a much longer
distance.
=============
Using Weapons
=============
==When On Foot
To fire a gun when on foot, press the CIRCLE button. Your weapon may have a
targeting mode you can use if you press R1. There are two kinds of aiming:
lock-on, and manual. Lock-on weapons lock onto what the game deems the most
dangerous target when you press the button. You can cycle through all the
available targets with R2 and L2. Manual aiming is when an aiming sight of
some kind comes up when you press R1. Use the D PAD or the LEFT STICK to aim
up, down, left or right. If you duck down with L3, you'll have greater
accuracy since you can control the gun's recoil better in this position.
==While In A Vehicle
To fire a gun while in a vehicle, you need a machine gun. These weapons are
indicated by yellow when you select them on your gameplay screen. They
are also surrounded by a yellow glow in the gaming field. Get inside
a vehicle, and then press R2 or L2 to look to the side. Press CIRCLE
to fire in the direction you're looking. If you're on a motorcycle, you
can shoot in front of you by pressing the CIRCLE button by itself. You can
also use a machine gun in a helicopter, however you must be in thecinematic
camera mode so it'll be near impossible to see what you're trying to hit.
========
Vehicles
========
==Getting In And Out Of Vehicles
To enter a vehicle, press TRIANGLE. You will then run over to the closest
vehicle and you'll attempt to get inside it. If someone is in the car,
you will automatically throw him out to get in the driver's seat. Unless
you got in on the passenger's side though, his passengers will stay in the
car until they decide to run for it.To get out of a vehicle, press TRIANGLE
when not accelerating. A new addition to GTAVC over GTA3 is that you no
longer have to wait for the vehicle to completely stop before you can get out.
However, the faster the vehicle is moving when you jump out, the more
damage you will take when you hit the ground. If you're moving slow enough
though, you won't get any damage. If you can, stop your vehicle before
you get out of it.If you're getting in a boat, you don't have to get inside
the boat first to take control of it. Just tap TRIANGLE when standing
next to a boat on a dock to automatically board it. When you want to get
out of a boat, press TRIANGLE to stop driving. Press SQUARE when standing
next to the edge of a boat to jump out of it. If you're next land, the
leaps should always land you on solid ground.
==When It's Time To Bail
You should abandon the vehicle you are in if its about to be destroyed.
Your car is about to blow up once the engine starts spewing black smoke.
If your car catches fire, GET OUT. That's the signal your car is about
to explode. Once it does blow up, it's going to heavily damage if not
destroy everything around it.If your car has flipped over and you can't
get it to roll back onto its wheels, then get out of there fast. Rolled-over
vehicles will catch fire and blow up after a short period of time.
Note that if your vehicle is laying on its side, you might be able to get
back on your wheels by pressing X and pressing the D PAD in the direction
the car is lying on the ground.
=======================
Road And Water Vehicles
=======================
==Carjacking
Most people you steal cars from won't try to fight back. A few of them will
though. In particular, the guy who drives the taxis almost always does this.
Drive away fast if you notice the driver is walking back towards you after
you threw him out of the car.
-Stealing Cop Cars
The police cars on the road always have their doors locked. There is a way
to get them to unlock their doors though. Try to open one of the car's doors,
and the cop will jump out to arrest you. After he's closed his door, the
police car's doors will be unlocked. You can then quickly hop in and speed
away. Do it fast before the cop can arrest you.
- Stealing Gang Cars
Stealing a gang car is also a little trickier than a stealing a civilian
vehicle. If you steal a gang car in front of members of the same gang,
they'll all come over to attack you. So, you should try to steal gang cars
when none of the other gang members are looking.
- Stealing Parked Cars
Some of the parked cars you see have their doors locked, and sometimes
the car alarm will activate if you take one of them. You should wait in
a quiet area for the alarm to stop, because if a cop sees you driving a
vehicle with the car alarm on, you'll get a one-star wanted level.
Thankfully, in GTAVC, car alarms and locked cars are far less common than
they were in GTA3.
==Drive By Shootings
To fire a gun while in a vehicle, you need a machine gun. These weapons
are ndicated by yellow when you select them on your gameplay screen.
They are also surrounded by a yellow glow in the gaming field.
Get inside a vehicle, and then press R2 or L2 to look to the side.
Press CIRCLE to fire in the direction you're looking. If you're on a
motorcycle, you can shoot in front of you by pressing the CIRCLE button
by itself. You can also use a machine gun in a helicopter, however
you must be in thecinematic camera mode so it'll be near impossible
to see what you're trying to hit.
=====================
Special Car Functions
=====================
==Horns And Sirens
To honk the horn in a road vehicle, press the L3 button. You press the L3
button by pressing down on your LEFT STICK like it's a button. To activate
the siren (if the vehicle has one) tap the L3 button.
==Vehicle Weapons
There are a few vehicles that have their own weapons on them. They
include the Firetruck, the Rhino, the Predator, the Hunter, and the
Sea Sparrow. Press the CIRCLE button to use the weapons. The
Firetruck shoots water, the Rhino's cannon fires, the Predator's
machine guns fire, and the Hunter's missile launcher fires by
pressing that button. Note that in the Firetruck and Rhino you
can rotate the cannon with the RIGHT STICK. Also, in the Hunter and
the Sea Sparrow, you can fire machine guns with R1.
Thanks to Finny Merrill
==Hydraulics
This function is exclusive to the Voodoo. Press L3 like you were
honking your horn. The car will bounce higher into the air on its
suspension. You can also use the R3 button to tilt the car around
with its hydraulics.
==R3 Missions
If you're driving a special vehicle like a taxi, you can press the
R3 button to trigger a special mission. You press the R3 button by
pressing down on your RIGHT STICK like it's a button. You can read
about these more in the R3 Vehicle Missions FAQ.
==Motorcycles
These aren't a new addition to the GTA series, but we haven't seen
motorcycles in a GTA game for quite awhile. Most of the motorcycles
are really fast, but you're also extremely vulnerable while riding one.
If you hit anything hard enough, you'll fly right off and take some damage.
However, their spectacular acceleration and high top speed makes them
fantastic choices for timed missions. Being able to accelerate quickly
in small spaces also makes them great for doing the unique stunt jumps.
==Special Moves
You can also pull off some cool moves on motorcycles that you can't do
in cars, namely wheelies and stoppies.
-Wheelies
Accelerate quickly, and press down on the D-pad. Your front wheel will rise
into the air. Be careful not to pull too far back on the D-pad, or the bike
will flip over and you'll fall off. You need to keep the wheelie going for
several seconds for the game to count it on the stats screen.
-Stoppies
Get up to a high speed, then hold down the brake and press up on the D-pad
at the same time. The back wheel will rise into the air as the bike slides
to a stop. Don't stop too quickly though, or the bike will flip over and
you'll fall off. Like wheelies, you need to keep stoppies going for a
while if you want the game to count them on your stats screen.
===========
Helicopters
===========
==Locations
You won't be flying any of these until you unlock western Vice City.
They're mostly on top of skyscrapers in the Downtown area. In case
you want to know, these are all the places you can get helicopters
from in Downtown:- on top of Hyman Condo- on top of the police station-
on top of the VCN BuildingNote that the VCN Building and the Hyman Condo
have doors at ground level that take you quickly to the roof where the
helicopter is. However, you must purchase Hyman Condo for $14,000 before
you can use its door to get to the roof. The police station has stairs
on the side of the building to let you up to the helicopter.
==Flying Helicopters
My preferred way of operating the helicopter is to use the LEFT STICK for
navigating, the RIGHT STICK for turning the helicopter in the right
direction, and the X button and SQUARE button for ascending and descending.
For the first few minutes, you should practice in a wide open space with
the helicopter some so you can get used to its odd physics. It's nowhere
near as difficult as flying the Dodo was in GTA3 though. When flying a
helicopter in the air, try to keep it out of tight spots. Every time you
hit the helicopter's blades on something, you'll damage the helicopter.
It doesn't take very long to blow up the helicopter by doing this, so try
very hard not to touch anything.
======
Planes
======
==Location Of Plane
There's only one plane in this game that you can fly, and it's called the
Skimmer. It looks like the Dodo from GTA3, only now it has full wings
andpontoons so it can land and take off on water. There is only one
location to get the plane as well. Beat the mission DILDO DODO after
you buy the Film Studio, and the Skimmer will always be parked on the
dock behind the studio lot in Prawn Island. You have to unlock western
Vice City and have beaten the mission SHAKEDOWN to purchase the studio.
==Flying Planes
If you were never able to master the Dodo in GTA3, don't sweat it!
The Skimmer is a lot easier to fly than the Dodo in GTA3 ever was.
If you DID master the Dodo in GTA3 though, you'll already have a
headstart on learning how to fly this plane! I prefer using the
LEFT STICK over the D PAD for flying this plane, since the stick
is better suited for flying. Remember that in the Skimmer,
pressing up makes you go down, and pressing down makes you go
up.First, there's the takeoff. Simply hold down the X button
and pull back on the LEFT STICK hard. Make sure you're going
in a straight line and don't turn while doing this. The plane
will slowly rise into the air. The next thing you probably want
to do is get some altitude.Well, in this game you got altitude
in a similar way to how you did in the Dodo in GTA3. After you've
gotten a decent sized distance from the ground, push forward on
the stick to do a nose dive. Pull back on the stick after you've
built up some speed to rise up into the air. You could have also
gotten a little altitude just by pulling back on the stick, but
that doesn't work very well. There's a good chance the plane could
stall and go down when you try to pull up without good speed.
One of the few edges the Skimmer has on the helicopters is that
it can reach higher altitudes. No more tapping the stick to turn!
Just push hard on the stick in the direction you want to go.
Don't turn too close to the water though, or you could wipe out!
Landing is easy. Just set your plane down on water. You could
also do it on land, but don't count on being able to get the
Skimmer back in the water very easily considering it has
pontoons and not wheels.
==Acrobatics
Despite the fact the Skimmer isn't near as useful as the helicopter
is, there are some pretty fun acrobatic stunts you can try.
==Touch And Go
Try flying as low as possible to the ground. It's lots of fun around Little
Haiti. Also, try nose-diving towards the ground and then pulling up just in
time so you only just tap the ground.
-The Cobra Maneuver
I learned this stunt from the www.gamefaqs.com Ace Combat 04 board. It's
strange that this trick somewhat works in a completely different game.
(Check out the game on PS2 if you can, because it rocks! I also have an
FAQ/Walkthrough on it too if you want to read about it.)First, dive towards
the ground to pick up some speed, then pull up really hard. Keep pulling
up and look at the plane from the side view. If you have enough speed,
the plane will stop with its nose vertical in the air. Once you've
stopped in mid air, the plane will start falling backwards to the
ground. If you keep tapping the sticks correctly, you can keep it
falling backwards until you hit the ground. However, you might want
to let the plane go horizontal again, because you might flip over when
you hit the ground.
=========================
Getting Busted And Wasted
=========================
==Busted
This is what will happen if you get arrested by a cop with a wanted level.
They can arrest you when you're lying down on the ground, or when they
manage to open the door of the car you're driving. You will then be
warped to the police station. You'll lose all the weapons you had, some
money, and if you were working on a mission at the time, you will fail it.
==Wanted Level
This indicates how badly the cops want to get you. This is what each
star on your wanted level meter indicates:
===1 STAR - The police seem to be more interested in finishing their
donuts than catching you. There will be only one car with one cop in
it chasing you if there's anyone at all. They won't even use their guns.
If a cop catches up to you he'll just beat you with his nightstick.
===2 STARS - Now it gets a little challenging. More patrol cars will
come, andthere are two cops inside each one.
===3 STARS - The police are really starting to get fed up with you at
this point. There will be many cars in pursuit, and they'll even call a
helicopter to the scene to shoot at you. They will start setting up roadblocks
and putting down spike strips to stop you. There will be undercover Cheetahs
chasing you. The cops inside them are equipped with Uzis.
===4 STARS - This is where the cops really start to pull out the heavy
artillery. SWAT trucks full of SWAT cops with Uzis will begin coming
after you. There will be police cars everywhere you turn, not to mention
barricades of SWAT trucks. SWAT teams will even rappel from the helicopter
to flush you out of hiding places like garages.
===5 STARS - Prepare for big trouble if you manage to last long enough to
get this far. The police will still be in pursuit, but now the FBI will
do most of the chasing. They'll come after you in black Ranchers that
have four doors instead of two. Each truck has four FBI agents in it, and
each of these agents is equipped with an MP5. Find someplace to hide or
prepare to die!
===6 STARS - You've caused so much havoc that the army is going to come
after you now! They will chase after you with Barracks OLs full of guys
with MP5s. There are even some Rhino tanks after you! If you just TOUCH
a Rhino tank, your car will be blown up.
==Keeping Your Wanted Level Down
--Avoid Getting A Wanted Level
First, never do anything illegal in front of a cop. This is much harder
than it sounds. Those cops on foot seem to be just about everywhere in
this game, and they're often difficult to pick out of crowds of
pedestrians. Never attack a cop. Just aiming a gun at a cop will earn
you two stars.
--Losing One Star
Hide somewhere and don't do anything. The star will go away by itself.-
Change clothes- Go to a Pay 'N' Spray- Collect one Police Bribe
--Losing Two Stars
Change clothes- Go to a Pay 'N' Spray- Collect two Police Bribe
--Losing Three Or More Stars
Go to a Pay 'N' Spray- Collect the number of Police Bribes that are on
your wanted level- Finishing a mission will usually cause you to lose your
wanted level completely, so if you are near mission completion, don't
bother hunting for Police Bribes or going to the Pay 'N' Spray.
==Raising Wanted Level
I am assuming you are trying to do this so you can get hold of a Rhino, a
FBI Rancher, etc. There are lots of good ways to do this. You can:-
Fire weapons- Blow up lots of cars- Kill lots of pedestrians- Steal lots
of cars
--Triggers One Stars
Try to steal a police car with a cop in it- Shoot at a police car, even
if there's no cop inside it- Shoot a gun in front of a cop- Attack a
civilian in front of a cop- Steal a car in front of a cop- Steal two
money items from a store- Shoot the clerk in a store
--Triggers Two Stars
Go into the VCPD HQ building in Vice Point when not dressed as a policeman-
Aim a gun at a policeman- Kill a policeman- Steal three money items from
a store- Allow the clerk in a store to set off the alarm.
--Triggers Three Stars
Steal four money items from a store- Blow up the Dodo flying around in
the sky over the city. Thanks to MelonHead.
--Trigger Four Stars And Beyond
Kill lots of law enforcement people- Blow up lots of law
enforcement vehicles- Shoot down the police helicopters
==Tips For Not Getting Busted
When you are in a police chase, I suggest using something with 2 wheels.
The PCJ-600 is the best vehicle to use if you are good at driving it. The
reason you ask? Well, the motorcycles have an awesome fish tail type of
ability. When you are accelerating but not going too fast, hurry and press
R1 and press down and left or right on the left analog stick. This will cause
the motorcycle to do a 180 degree spin. This is very useful when trying to get
away from parked cop cars and or roadblocks. Another thing that makes the
PCJ-600 the vehicle of choice is its awesome speed and handling. Overall,
it is probably the best vehicle in the whole game. When using cars, I suggest
using a sports car such as the Cheetah or Infernus because of their speed.
======
Wasted
======
Notice you have an armor meter and a health meter in the upper-right
corner. As you take damage, you'll lose armor points until you're
out of armor. At that time, you'll start losing health. When your
health is gone, you are wasted. You'll be transported to the nearest
hospital when you die. You will lose some money and all your guns.
If you were working on a mission at the time, you'll fail it.
==Ways To Get Hurt
Get shot, punched, burned, hit by melee weapons, or get caught
in explosions- Fall for a long distance- Dive out of a vehicle
while it's traveling at a medium speed- Fall off of a bike when
traveling at a medium speed- Fall in ocean water (usually certain
death)- Sit in a vehicle when it explodes (instant death)
==Ways To Recover Health
Find a health icon, which looks like a heart on a pink disc- Order
some food at a restaurant if your health is under 100- Pick up a
prostitute in a car, go to a dark place, and watch (I'm serious
about this one!)- Get inside an ambulance
There are some things to note about these ways to get health.
Food you buy at restaurants can only bring your health to 100.
Prostitutes can bring your health only up to 125. If you got the 150-
health powerup from the Pizza Boy mission, your health will be taken down
to 125 when the hooker does her thing. Ambulances will take you to your
normal maximum health. If you got 125 health from a hooker and your maximum
health is 100, your health will go down to 100.
==Get Armor
Find a body armor icon- Purchase body armor at an Ammu-Nation store for
$200- Get inside an Enforcer
==Gang Tactics
In GTA3, just about every gang out there hated you by the end of the game.
It was impossible to travel anywhere in the city without getting shot at by
somebody. Thankfully though, gangs that hate you in this game are far less
common. In fact, only one gang truly gets to the point where they hate you
enough to shoot at you. The gang is *spoiler* the Haitians.
They'll begin to hate you after you beat the mission TROJAN VOODOO by
Umberto Robina. You should do everything that has to be done in enemy gang
territory before they start attacking you whenever you come to their territory.
Collect the hidden packages in the area, do the rampages, look for unique
stunts, etc.If a gang hates you, they'll shoot at you every time you pass through their
territory. If you're going fast enough though, the enemy gang won't have enough
time to identify you. If you stop your car, they'll run over and try to throw
you out of your car. Never stop moving while passing through enemy territory.

Finding Work
============
If you want to make it in this town, you're going to need to get hold of some
cash. And to do that, you have to get a job! There are many ways to get
employment in Vice City.
==Storyline Missions
A large portion of the work you'll do in this game is from the major
employers in the city, like Colonel Cortez. These are the most important
missions in the game you'll play, since you need to beat them to unlock
western Vice City, the ability to buy properties, and to see what happens
at the end of the game. Completing storyline missions is also the only
way to meet a lot of your side bosses, like Love Fist. They're all
represented on the radar by their initial in a blue box. You'll meet
them through completing missions for the other storyline bosses.
Check out the Storyline Missions Walkthrough below this section to
find walkthroughs for these missions.
==Property Missions
Once you beat the mission SHAKEDOWN, you'll be able to buy certain
businesses around the map, like the Ice Cream Factory. Look for the
green house icon in front of the business and press L1 on it to buy it,
if you have enough money. You should buy as many of the businesses as
you can. The reason is because after you finish most of or all the missions
for a property, a money icon will appear at the business. The business will
now generate a certain amount of money a day. You can pick up this money at
the business and add it to your own wallet. Look at the Property Missions
Walkthrough of this guide for more information.
==Side Missions
These missions come in various forms. In some of them, you get missions
from a boss like the Property and Storyline missions. The boss missions
you'll meet through the storyline missions. They're represented on the
radar, so you won't have to go searching for them. In other side missions
however, you might get in a certain vehicle in the gaming environment
and then the mission will automatically start. Keep your eyes sharp
for parked vehicles in out of the way places, because they might just
be hiding something... Check out the Side Missions Walkthrough for
more information.
==R3 Missions
There are special missions you can play in the game if you get hold of a
certain vehicle. For example, if you find a taxi, you can play the Taxi
Driver game. Press R3 to start these missions. To press the R3 button,
press down on your RIGHT STICK like it's a button. Read the R3 Missions
section for more information.
==Collecting Missions
These are side quests where you collect things. Things to collect include
finding hidden packages, completing rampages, completing unique jumps, and
robbing every robbable store. These quests tend to be difficult to complete,
since it's so hard to find everything.
Thanks to Minesweeper for the whole Game Basics section.

Gangs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This section describes and gives some background on all of the gangs in Vice
City.
Haitians
The Haitians are one of the most notorious gangs in Vice City. The Haitians
and the Cubans are competing for control over Vice City's drug distribution.
They are also having turf wars in Little Havana frequently. The Haitians hang
out all over Little Havana. You can usually see them walking along the
northern part of the main stretch of road in Little Havana near the Pay N
Spray on that island. The leader of their gang is voodoo master, Auntie
Poulet. The Haitians drive Voodoo's. As for weapons, they usually carry Colt
.45's but sometimes are unarmed. They are dressed in either white pants with
a blue shirt or baby blue shirt and blue jeans. They are all Haitian-
American, but look African-American. These guys will shoot at you every time
they see you after you finish all of the missions for the Cubans. They aren't
a real threat but they can be when they are in packs of around 10 and are
carrying weapons. Just don't go walking in their territory or you will be
shot up. The Haitians are the only gang that will shoot at you on sight.
Their main turf is in the area by Kaufman Cabs and by the Print Works.
Street Wannabes
These guys are your typical street gang. They are white guys with leather
jackets and blue jean pants. They are rivals with the PIGs but only because
they break the law often. You can see the Street Wannabes beating up
pedestrians a lot. Their hangout seems to be inside the North Point Mall and
around the North Point Mall area. The only time they will mess with you is
when you mess with someone in their gang. They carry Colt .45's although some
of them are unarmed. They have no means of transportation so they have to
walk around everywhere. These guys sometimes even run when you hit them so
they are pretty much no threat but they can sometimes get cocky. They are
pretty much typical street punks. You don't need to worry about these guys.
PIGs
The PIGs are kind of cop wannabes but are criminals at the same time. They
work for DBP Security. They will shoot at any gang they see and will always
shoot at you if you break a law or have a wanted level. They hang out around
the North Point Mall area (inside and outside) and on Starfish Island. They
are rivals with the Street Wannabes. They always wear traditional blue cop
uniforms with the letters PIGs down them and the meaning of each letter in
their name. They are all white. They carry Colt .45's and don't hesitate to
use them if you have done something wrong. They have no means of
transportation and are always on foot.
Cubans
The Cubans are the other big gang in Vice City besides the Haitians, which
are the biggest. They are involved in a heated feud with the Haitians over
the drug distribution control in Vice City. The Cubans main hang out is
Little Havana. They mostly hang out near Cafe Robina, which is their main
base of operations and in the southern part of Little Havana. The leader of
their gang is Umberto. They drive Cuban Hermes which are Hermes but with a
flame paint job. They are usually dressed in white T-Shirts and blue jeans.
They only shoot at you, unless you shoot at them first. They carry Colt .45's
but some of them are unarmed. They are no threat to you.
Vercetti Gang
The Vercetti Gang is actually your gang. You get them after you obtain the
Vercetti Estate. They will appear outside of the Vercetti Estate and outside
all of the businesses you buy. They never shoot out you and will let you hit
them as much as you want. If you punch a guy, they will even lay down until
you stop hitting them or they die. They have no means of transportation. They
will shoot anyone that mess with you. They are carrying Uzi 9mm's. They are
pretty useful. They wear white pants and Hawaiian shirts much like Vercetti.
These are your friends, not your enemies so treat them like friends.
--Golfers
The golfers might not seem like a gang, but they are. You can even see that
if you kill enough. Then, look on your stats page under Most Hated Gang. They
hang out at the Leaf Links Golf Club. Some are unarmed but some have Golf
Clubs. They drive around in those awesome Caddy's and will be either outside
Leaf Links on the road or inside it everywhere. These guys will attack you in
packs if you attack one of their golf buddies. They are very violent with
their big shiny golf clubs. Thanks to Kyle7114 for informing me that I didn't
have them listed yet.
--Bikers
The bikers might not seem like a gang, but they are. You can even see that if
you kill enough. Then, look on your stats page under Most Hated Gang. The
Biker gang is the people you kill in the Rampages and the bikers around the
Greasy Chopper. I am not sure if they are on the Freeways that are all over
the place though. They have no weapons but will not hesitate to hit you. In
the Rampages they do have weapons so don't underestimate them. Thanks to
Kyle7114 for informing me that I didn't have them listed yet.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Properties
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
All of the properties are businesses you can buy and end up making money off
of. There are 8 total. I will also list how to make money with them and how
much they cost to buy.
Boatyard- complete "Checkpoint Charlie"- $10,000
Cherry Popper Ice Cream Factory- sell "ice cream" to 50 people in a row-
$20,000
Kaufman Cabs- complete mission string- $40,000
Car Showroom- steal the cars on the lists- $50,000
Print Works- complete mission string- $70,000
Film Studio- complete mission string- $60,000
The Malibu- complete mission string- $100,000
Pole Position Club- spend $600 on a dancer in one sitting- $30,000
Overall, I would say buy Sunshine Autos first because it has many great
features. It has 4 garages, a Pay N Spray, and it generates $9,000 a day if
you complete all of the car lists. I think it is the best buy when first
starting out.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Safe Houses
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are the places you can buy to save and store cars in and etc. I will
list them all, their price, their location, and their garage size. There are
7 total that you buy.
Elswanko Casa- 1 garage- $8,000- Elswanko Casa is located near the North
Point Mall. It is a 2-story condo.
Links View Apartment- 1 garage- $6,000- This is located almost by the
Elswanko Casa safe house. It is the building right next to Mercedes' house.
Ocean Heights- 1 garage- $7,000- This is by the Ammunation in Ocean Beach. It
is red and white.
Hyman Condo- 3 garages and a helipad- $14,000- This is located by the
Ammunation in Downtown. Go past the Ammunation and turn right and keep going
and you should see an alleyway on your right after a little while. Just go in
the alleyway and you will find it.
1102 Washington Street- no garage- $3,000- This is in the Washington district
and is right across from the Washington Mall. It is on the same stretch as
the bridge that leads from Ocean Beach to Little Havana.
3321 Vice Point- no garage- $2,500- This is located near the North Point
Mall. It is like a pale green, multistory building.
Skumhole Shack- no garage- $1,000- This is located right down the road from
The Greasy Chopper which is a biker bar. You should see a building that has a
stairwell leading from its roof. Go up the stairwell and you will see it.
Overall, I think you should save your money until you have the Hyman Condo
because it has the biggest garage space and a helicopter that the condo has
on the roof that you can use at any time. The Hyman Condo is the best buy.

Your Flight Record ratings are given to you according to how long
you have been flying helicopters and or the Sea Skimmer. The only way
raise them is to keep on flying for a long time. Well, Here are
the ratings.
1. Flyboy
2. Aircraftman
3. Pilot Officer
4. Corporal
5. Lieutenant
6. Sergeant
7. Captain
8. Biggs
9. Wedge
10. Red Baron
11. Goose
12. Viper
13. Jester
14. Chappy
15. Iceman
16. Maverick
17. Noops
18. Air Chief Marshal
19. Ace
The best way to raise Media Attention Level and Criminal Rating is to use the
Hunter or Rhino. Just cause as much damage as you can by blowing stuff up and
murdering people. The only flaw with the Rhino is its slow acceleration,
which could end in you getting busted when first starting to accelerate. The
Hunter is good because your only threat is the Police Maverick and they are
easy to get rid of with either the missiles or minigun on the Hunter. Just
cause as much damage as you can to get high ratings in each.
Here are more good ways to raise your Criminal Rating. Get a Rhino and
use the cannon for a booster rocket, make a few laps around the city
picking up police bribes along the way. If you take a different bridge
then the one you took to cross over all the police bribes will respawn.
Make a few laps around the city, and when you get board head for
Sunshine Autos. Wage a foot war and take out that chopper, once your armor
is gone, get a car out of you garage and respray. This method gives you
100-500 or so points per lap depending on how many people you kill, so be
sure to drive on the side walk as much as possible. If you do not make it
to a pay and spray, you will not receive anything. Thanks to Tocis2bsharp.
Another method is to put 4 helicopters in the big garage at the condo, go
and get something big like the fire truck use it and whatever is passing by to
block the entrance to the alley. This prevents most of the peds getting near
the expolsion and rasing your wanted level. Now, park a tank in front of
the door. Open the door, get in the tank, drive in a little. Blow up
the heli's, back up, door closes. I made over 1000 points in one minute.
Keep doing this until you a Godfather or die of boredom. You can also
do this method at Sunshine Autos, but it takes longer. Thanks to
tocis2bsharp.
Here is another way. Go through as little as possible
through the game, shooting few bullets and having others shoot few
bullets. Upon unlocking the western island, collect all hidden
packages. Once you do, get the Hunter. Set the Hunter down in front
of the Rhino, and tape down the R1 button so the gun is shooting the
Rhino constantly. Leave your game for a day, and come back when your
accuracy is in the millions. When you shoot something with the Hunter's
gun, it adds to the bullets that have hit but not the ones that have
been fired. So if you had 1 bullet shot, then all you need is 2 bullets
from the Hunter and you've got 200% accuracy. 10 bullets, you get
1000% accuracy. Your criminal rating will SKYROCKET. For me, I would
have to get 45,900 more bullets shot to raise my accuracy to 200%. I
left the game on for a little while like this and came back to 448%
accuracy, and a much higher criminal rating. If you have lots of
bullets shot, this isn't too practical for you but it'll still work.
Thanks to EdGreen.
Here is yet another way. Use the Hunter. Go to
the Downtown VCPD building with the helicopter on top of it. Blow
it up, then blow up the Downtown Chopper Checkpoint Sparrow right
across from it. Now, fly to the water. Turn around and keep flying
until you get a little ways past the street. Turn around and then
repeat previous steps. Each helicopter you blow up adds 30 points
to your criminal rating. You can get about 120 points per 45 seconds
doing this. If I did my math right, it'll take approximately 92.6
hours to get to Godfather if you start at 0. You probably have much
more than 0 by now, though. Destroying a Sea Skimmer will also give
you 30 points. Thanks to EdGreen.

Robbing Stores
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are many stores you can rob in GTA Vice City. There are 15 to be exact.
You need to be careful after robbing stores because they always result in a 2
star wanted level. You have to use a gun with auto targeting to do it. Just
walk in the store and point the gun at the clerk and hold it there and watch
the money and your wanted level rise. Well here they are along with their
location.

Wanted Level
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This section just tells you what happens when you get so many stars in your
wanted level. Your wanted level shows how much police force is being used to
catch you.
One Star: The police will carry Colt 45 pistols and nightsticks. Only cops on
foot or cops in cars that are passing by will chase you.
Two Stars: Police will chase you in more than 1 car and more cars will be
after you. They carry the same weapons as they would if you had One Star.
Three Stars: Police helicopters and undercover cops that are packing Uzi's
will now chase you as well as the regular police. The undercover cops are
driving unmarked Cheetah's. There will also be roadblocks now.
Four Stars: Everything from Three Stars is after you as well as the SWAT
team. Now, SWAT members will repel from helicopters and helicopters will not
hesitate to shoot at you and neither will the police. The SWAT teams are
carrying Uzi's and Colt 45's. This is the time they start using spike strips
to try and pop your tires.
Five Stars: Now everything from Four Stars is after you as well as the FBI
and they are carrying MP5's and Colt 45's. They will be driving in grayish
looking, unmarked Rancher's.
Six Stars: Now everything from Five Stars is after you as well as the Army.
They will be arriving in Rhino's, Barracks OL's, and Flatbeds and will take
you down quickly. The ground soldiers are armed with MP5's, Grenades, and
Colt 45's.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Places Of Interest
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This section just lists some places that will be of use to you.
8-Ball's Bomb Shop- Yes, 8-Ball's shop is in the game and you can find it
near the Boatyard by the Pay N Spray. 8-Ball's is used to equip vehicles with
bombs.
Pay N Spray- You can respray your cars, lose wanted levels, and repair your
cars all at Pay N Spray. There are a few spread out across Vice City. There
is one is by Washington Mall, on the main stretch in Little Havana, by the
boatyard in Little Havana, and there is 1 more at Sunshine Autos.
North Point Mall- This is a mall with a bunch of places including an
Ammunation, All Tooled Up, and The Gash. It is near the Malibu Club.
Washington Mall- This is a mall that is smaller than North Point and is
located near the Pay N Spray there.
Ammunation- This is the gun shop in Vice City. You can find one in Downtown
near the biker bar, one on the south tip of the east island, and one in the
North Point Mall.
Hardware Stores- There are a few hardware stores in Vice City that all go by
different names. There is All Tooled Up in North Point Mall, Screw This
Hardware in Little Havana near Sunshine Autos, and there is one by the police
station in Washington.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quick Cash
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This section just says good ways to make money.
Way #1
To get some quick cash, go get a gun with auto targeting. I suggest getting a
Tec9, Uzi, Ingram Mac 10, or MP5 for this part since you can run with those
weapons. Now that you have it, go to North Point Mall. When you get there, go
to the Tool Shop. Once there, rob it. Then when you have your wanted level,
run to The Gash and change costumes. Then, rob The Gash and run to the tool
shop and change clothes. Now, just repeat the process and the money will rack
up.
Way #2
This is a really good way to make a quick $1,000. As it turns out, parking is
ridiculously expensive in Vice City. On a North and South running street in
Downtown on the second island (south of the Hyman Condo), there is a street
covered in parking meters (it may be a curved street, I am not sure). If you
run into them (or maybe use a tool like the hammer or baseball bat), you
knock about $2-400 out of them. The only problem is if you hit them too fast,
you will wrap your car around them and they'll get stuck in the engine.
Explosions are usually imminent. I don't think that this willful destruction
of private property even generates a wanted level so you're basically just
able to get decent cash with minimal effort. Thanks to C Antiself on the find
and thanks to Myke for letting me post this off of his FAQ.
Way #3
Killing gang members is always a good way because they leave lots of money
lying around. Thanks to DarthTodd.
Way #4
The Good Citizen's Award gives you $50 each time you hit someone. If you see
a cop chasing someone, just punch them down and then kick them every few
seconds and watch the cash stack up. Don't worry about a wanted level because
you won't get one. Thanks to DarthTodd. To keep earning money after they are
dead, wait until the money has entered your total and kick again and repeat
the process. Thanks to ScrubKing.
Way #5
R3 button missions always give good money. Just keep doing what you are
supposed to do and watch the money stack up. Vigilante missions and the Brown
Thunder missions give the most. Thanks to DarthTodd.
Way #6
If you steal a coach, you can go around the city and look for bus stops. If
you stop, people will get on and you get $5 per person. It might take a long
time but it will build up sooner or later. Thanks to Noskils32.
Way #7
You can get great money by robbing stores. To do this easily, I suggest
scoping out the stores first. Try to memorize the way to get to Pay N Sprays
and ways to your hideouts or Police Bribes that are close to the store.
Thanks to DabXCarRacer182.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quick Ammo
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This section just lists quick ways to get ammo for guns.
Way #1
A good way to get ammo is to do Rampages. If you do, you will get left over
ammo in your weapons slot.
Way #2
Another good way is to rob the owners of Ammunation. All you have to do is
shoot at them and hop over the counter and grab their guns. Repeat at will.
Way #3
If you run over gang members like the Haitians or the Vercetti Gang for
example, they will leave ammo lying on the ground. Run them over so you won't
have to waste your own ammo but you can shoot them if you want.
Way #4
Killing cops will give you ammo but then you have to worry about a wanted
level. If you enter a cop car, you will automatically get Shotgun ammo. If
you don't already have a Shotgun and you enter the cop car, you will get a
Chrome Shotgun.
Way #5
Finding weapons will give you ammo. If you happen to find a weapon laying
somewhere, memorize the location. Now, get the ammo and save your game and
load it up again. Now, go back to that location and the ammo will be there
again. Repeat the process as desired. I know this is a long process but it
might turn out to be worth it.
Way #6
Let the cops do your dirty work. For example, go to the North Point
Mall. When the Street Wannabes start having shootouts with the cops
or PIGs, wait until everyone stops shooting and then go collect
the dead's weapons. Thanks to Angles No10 Fan.
Way #7
When you have acquired the Vercetti Estate, go looking around for
the Vercetti Gang that is all over the place. Once you find them,
kill as many as you like. They will drop submachine guns and they
don't even fight back! Thanks to ManlyMan62.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ken Rosenberg's Missions
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--An Old Friend
This is your first mission. All you do is steal a car (or walk, but I'm sure
you won't want to do that), and drive to the L on the map. There is also a
car given to you at the beginning but you probably won't want to ride in it
because you will see something else you want. Just try not to get caught.
Mission complete when you get to the hotel.
REWARD: get first series of missions.
--The Party
You are supposed to go to a yacht party to meet Colonel Cortez. First, drive
to Raphael's and get the suit. You can get to Raphael's by following the t-
shirt icon on your map. Now all you do is go to the yacht by following the
blip on your radar. After a short cut-scene, Cortez tells you to go take
Mercedes to the Pole Position Club. Just steal a car sitting outside and
drive her to the club by following the pink blip on your radar. I wouldn't
recommend stealing the motorcycle because you will probably try to end up
trying to be a speed demon on it and wreck the bike and you will lose health
and probably eventually die as well as Mercedes will too. After you get
Mercedes to Pole Position, mission completed.
REWARD: $100
--Back Alley Brawl
I bet you were getting tired of not being able to kill anyone. Well your wait
is finally over for you can kill a few people in this mission. Your mission
is to find Kent Paul and get some information. He can be found at the Malibu
Club. To get there, follow the pink blip. After a short cut scene, he tells
you that there might be a chef that knows some information near Ocean Drive.
Follow the green blip to find the Chef's restaurant. He can be found behind
it in an alley. You are going to have to fist fight him. Make sure you do NOT
kill him. When you knock him out, you get his cell phone. After a short cut
scene, you will meet Lance Vance. After the cut scene, a few angry chef's
with meat cleavers come out to find their knocked out friend. Lance gives you
a pistol and you are told to make an escape. You can finish this mission 2
ways. The first way is to start shooting the chefs and pick up their meat
cleavers after you are done and then jump in Lance's infernus and drive away.
An alternate way of killing them would be finding Lance's Infernus first by
following Lance and then just running them over or just don't kill them at
all. I advise you not to kill them because it will result in a 2 star wanted
level for you. Then just drive to the Ammunation down the strip and let the
cut scene end and then mission complete.
REWARD: $200
--Jury Fury
The point of this mission is to "persuade" 2 jurors in Giorgio Forelli's
trial. Giorgio is Sonny Forelli's cousin. Follow the yellow blip on your
radar and find the first juror. Walk up to him and hit him with the hammer.
He should run to his car and try to speed off. All of a sudden, a truck comes
by and he slams into it. A hammer falls out of the truck. Pick it up. Now
just beat the door off of the juror's car until it falls off. He will then
exit and you are done with that juror. Now follow the blip to the next juror.
You will find his car sitting there with no one in it. Just start hammering
it and eventually he will come out and run away and mission complete.
REWARD: $400
--Riot
You come into contact with Avery Carrington for the first time in this
mission. He wants you to rough up some real estate owners. First, follow the
blip to Raphael's to get the coveralls. Now, this mission will work best with
a PCJ-600 so try to have one handy. Now, follow the blip to find the workers.
Then, hit one or two of them with your fists to start the riot and the
security gate should open. If you have the PCJ-600, park it outside on the
sidewalk and then hit the workers. Then, hop on and ride through the gates
and knock down as many of the workers as you can so they won't all crowd you
and knock you off. After you hit the workers, security guards will come out
trying to get the riot under control. Go inside the gate and kill the cop
inside and get his gun. Then, drive the truck by itself on the left by the 2
trucks on the other side of it. Then, at a safe distance, shoot the barrel by
the trucks and it will explode. If one truck doesn't explode, just shoot it
with your gun or wreck it a lot. To complete this mission, just have all 3
trucks blow up. After that, mission complete and all of Ken Rosenberg's
missions are over.
REWARD: $1,000
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Juan Garcia Cortez- The Colonel
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Treacherous Swine
After the cut scene, you have a chainsaw and are told to kill Gonzalez. Now
just hop into the Cheetah outside your current location and drive to the blip
on your radar, which is Gonzalez's penthouse. When you get there, there will
be a cut scene showing you walk in and Gonzalez and his posse seeing you.
Hurry and kill his gang and follow him. You now have 2 stars in your wanted
level. You will end up chasing Gonzalez on the street. Just switch weapons to
fists and run after him by holding X down. When you get by him, carve him up
with the chainsaw. Now you have 2 stars and need to get to a Pay N Spray.
After you do, mission complete.
REWARD: $250
--Mall Shootout
The Colonel tells you to go to the Washington Mall in Ocean Beach to meet a
Courier. You'll need weapons for this for sure. Head over to Ammunation and
pick up an Ingram Mac 10 and some body armor. Then follow the blip to meet up
with the Courier who is on the second story of the Washington Mall. After a
cut scene, it seems as if the Courier has betrayed you and a French SWAT team
is after you. I advise you not to shoot at them since they will quickly down
you if you stand in one spot and shoot at them and you need that precious
ammo. Just run out of the mall. Then, quickly catch the Courier, kill him,
and take the briefcase he's carrying by chasing him. You will need a car to
catch him and a fast one at that since he will escape on car or motorcycle.
If car, just do a drive by on him until he explodes. If motorcycle, ram him
off of the motorcycle with your car, kill him, and take the briefcase. Then,
go to a Pay N Spray. Now, take the briefcase back to the Colonel by following
the blip on your radar. Do this and mission complete.
REWARD: $500
--Guardian Angels
In this mission, that Cortez gives you, you are told to get a gun (a Ruger to
be exact) in a car park and then to go meet a guy named Diaz. As you go to
the car park and pick up the gun, a white Infernus drives up the road and
Lance gets out. He asks why you're hogging all the fun, and eventually he
comes with you. You get in his white Infernus. From that point, go to the dot
on the map and get out. A guy will ask you to watch over him to make sure "a
deal" is going ok, and that no people are ripping anybody off. At that point
you say to Vance, that they will be here soon and we should get a good
vantage point. Lance runs to one side with stairs, and you run to the other.
Right as you step on the marker, a car drives up and a couple guys get out.
It looks like a good deal, but wait, all of a sudden the guys that got out of
the car start firing. Now you must protect Diaz and Lance As more cars are
driving up, be sure to keep nailing people and looking at Lance and Diaz's
health bar. Be sure to help him if needed. At last as you think all the cars
have stopped, a cut scene commences and shows two guys on Sanchez's (dirt
bikes) driving by Diaz and picking up the money. As the two bikes are
crossing the street, a good aim fires and hits one guy in the back, sending
the guy flying off the bike and the bike sitting on the ground. Get on that
bike and to go after that other biker. As you are going after him, you are
informed by a note at the top of the screen that you are able to fire forward
with a submachine gun. That becomes useful. As you catch up to him, just fire
and get the money back. Then, go back to Diaz and give him the money, and
then he informs you that he might need you in the future. Mission Complete.
REWARD: $1,000
--Sir, Yes Sir!
Your objective on this mission is to retrieve a tank that is rolling down the
road in a convoy in Little Havana. Follow your radar to get to it. The
easiest way to do this is to drive with them long enough until they stop for
donuts. Yes, get some donuts. The guy in the tank will get out and you can
steal it from there. Then you have to drive the tank back to a garage, which
is pretty close and it shouldn't be that hard for you since all of the
pursuing cars will just run into you and explode. To go faster in the tank,
turn the turret backwards by pressing R3 left and right. When it is all the
way backwards, hit Circle to make it fire and it will make you go faster.
After you get it back to the garage, mission complete.
REWARD: $2,000
--All Hands On Deck
The Colonel has decided to leave town by yacht. There is only one problem, a
lot of people don't want him to leave and are going to try to kill him at all
costs. I suggest you use an M60 or M4 for this mission. A rocket launcher
would also help significantly. Ok you start off where a few boats are
circling the yacht. Blow them all up. They will appear on the Starboard and
Port sides of the yacht. Now, a group of ships have blocked a waterway. You
must blow them all up. After that is done, you must destroy some helicopters.
It really isn't that hard. If you need body armor, you can go to the top of
the ship via stairway and there is some body armor up there. After all of
that, mission complete.
REWARD: $5,000
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ricardo Diaz- Coke Baron
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--The Chase
Diaz suspects that one of his drug dealers is skimming on money that should
rightfully be Diaz's. He wants you to head to the guy's apartment and follow
him to where he is stashing the money. Follow the pink blip to reach his
apartment and go stand by the window. A short cut scene will commence showing
the guy seeing you and then you must chase him down. After a while of
running, he gets in a BJ Injection with an accomplice and on the ground there
is a moped. I advise you to get this because it will help. Now, you must
follow him. Don't worry about speed since they won't be going too fast. Just
follow him and don't get shot up. It should be easy to swerve the bullets
with the moped. After he gets to his house, he will get out and mission
complete.
REWARD: $1,000
--Phnom Penh '86
Diaz wants you to deal with some guys in this mission. You are given an M60
(with unlimited ammo for now) and you shoot out of a helicopter at people
while Lance drives. Just keep shooting people until the next cut scene. Then,
you are to go on foot and M60 ammo is limited. Go inside the house and
proceed to the rooftop while killing everyone in sight. Be cautious around
the stairs, as there are guys around them somewhere. Shoot all the guys on
the rooftop and recover the cash in the briefcase and Lance will pick you up.
Then, a cut scene commences and mission complete.
REWARD: $2,000
--The Fastest Boat
Diaz needs a fast boat and wants you to help him acquire it. It is being
developed in the Boatyard. Drive to the Boatyard by following the pink blip
on the radar. Firepower will be necessary in this mission. You must shoot
everyone in sight to get inside the boathouse to lower the boat to the water.
The switch is by a pink circle so you just walk inside the circle and it will
be lowered. Go enter the boat and drive it to Diaz's mansion. After that,
mission complete.
REWARD: $4,000
--Supply And Demand
Your objective in this mission is to be the first one to a yacht, which you
have read from the briefing from Diaz. As you run down to the boat, you see
a marker. Step in it. A cut scene commences and shows your new best friend,
Lance Vance, sitting in the boat. When that cut scene is over, you get to
see another cut scene of 4 other boats that are also racing you. Great,
competition! You should follow the 2 boats that took a left, as you catch up
to them, you realize that they have guns, and they're using them on you.
Don't worry, you can survive their gunfire because Lance is has guns too and
will commence the "Lance Vance Dance". As you get ahead of them, you slowly
pull away. Just keep following the waterway until you reach a boat with a
marker over it Just drive the boat directly towards the parked boat and
mission complete, or is it? Suddenly some people are angry that they didn't
get the stuff. Now Lance drives and you are told to blow up any boats or
helicopters coming for you. After you kill them all and you reach the
destination, mission complete.
REWARD- $10,000
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tommy Vercetti- Criminal Empire
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Death Row
This is your first mission for well, yourself. You get a call and hear that
Lance is being held captive in a junkyard in Little Havana. You must rescue
him. It helps to have either a shotgun or submachine gun for this mission
because of the auto targeting. Make sure you have body armor and ammo. Drive
to the junkyard by following the radar. You should see a car blocking the
entrance. Get out and blow the car up from a distance. Then there will be
swarms of guys so just shoot them up and make your way to Lance. There will
only be 1 or 2 guys around Lance so take care of them. After a cut scene, get
in the car by the building Lance is in and drive to the hospital. Lance's
health is depleting so avoid confrontation to save valuable time. If you are
hit or anything by the other cars, just do drive bys on them until they blow
up but try not to waste too much time on them. After he is at the hospital,
mission complete.
ALTERNATE STRATEGY- There is a way to sneak into the junkyard without having
to go through all of those gangsters. Just go to the docks near the junkyard,
and follow it north a little until you see a pile of garbage/tires. Get on
top of it and jump over the wall of the junkyard. Voila! You are now next to
the containment area where Lance is held. No fuss, no muss. Thanks to Tir
Mcdohl.
ALTERNATE STRATEGY 2- Wanting to use the Hunter but not having enough
packages, I resorted to the tank. Bring the tank to the Malibu and start
the mission. If you point the turret directly behind you and fire repeatedly,
you can get to the junkyard in plenty of time. Once there, head straight to
Lance. Blow up or run over any guys that give you trouble. Once you get in
Lance's vicinity, get out and use an automatic weapon to take out your nearby
foes. There are two guys outside of Lance and one in with him; be sure not
to shoot Lance. Once you free him, take your time; the clock has stopped.
Make sure everyone around is dead, because they will pull you out of the
vehicle. Keep in mind that Lance walks very slowly, and you have no
indication when he's in the vehicle, so you'll have to make sure he gets
in. As soon as you exit the junkyard, the guys will start chasing you.
Point your turret behind you and take them out. They send no reinforcements,
so you can drive carefully to your final destination. Don't worry too much
about stars; as soon as you arrive, the mission will be completed and they'll
be gone. Thanks to booya bazooka.
REWARD: No Reward
--Rub Out
In this mission, you and Lance are determined to kill Diaz. Well, make your
way to the mansion and shoot the 2 guys guarding the front door. Then, you
find out the door is locked. That's ok though. Facing the locked front door,
go left and keep going and make your way around the house by going onto the
ground and going up the stairs on the other side. Then, shoot the 2 guys
right there and keep going straight and turn right again and keep going.
Then, turn right in the backyard and go inside the garage like area with the
pool and stuff there. Then go into the mansion from there shooting guys until
you make your way to Diaz. Kill Diaz and mission complete.
REWARD: $50,000
--Shakedown
In this mission, you must drive to the North Point Mall so you can persuade
the businesses to want your protection. You only have 5 minutes to accomplish
this. The best way to do this is take the Infernus in front of the Vercetti
Estate. Drive quickly to the North Point Mall, which you can tell its
location on your radar. After you get there, equip yourself with a submachine
gun, and then just look for the businesses on your radar and bust EVERY
window on the radar. Some are upstairs also. Then, mission complete.
REWARD: $2,000
--Bar Brawl
Take your gang of men to the Front Page Bar in Ocean Beach by following the
yellow blip on the radar. Upon arrival, you will see 2 guards in the
entrance. I advise you to pull a drive by on them. Then enter the pink marker
and you will talk to the owner in a cut scene. After that, a clock counts
down from 5 minutes. You must kill all of the targets on your radar within
that time. You should be heading towards the next blip on your radar. When
there, there will be an explosion and cars will come out and go all over the
place. Just drive by them. After that is done, mission complete.
REWARD: $4,000
--Copland
This is one of the toughest missions in the game. When one of your guys
messes up on a bomb attempt, it is up to Tommy and Lance to finish the job.
First thing, you must do something to raise your wanted level. Do drive bys
or shoot cops to do this. The cops will follow your car into a garage. I
advise you not to get the cops after you until you are near the garage
because you don't need to be chased around the city and stuff. Just when you
get to the garage, shoot a pedestrian or two to get your wanted level up then
lead the cops in the garage. There must be two cops that follow you in. After
the door closes then reopens, Tommy and Lance come out wearing police
uniforms. Take the police car that is parked besides the garage, and drive to
the North Point Mall. After you get there, go to the cafe and set the bomb.
Once the bomb is set, run because you only have 5 seconds before the bomb
explodes. Get into your car, and drive as fast as possible. Make sure Lance
is in the car. I know it sounds like common sense, but Lance is very slow at
times. Your stars should be at 5 because you will not only have the police
after you, but the feds as well. The feds are pretty bad when it comes to
running you off of the road. You must also be careful of the police, because
they start laying spike strips too. Drive as quickly as possible to the
mansion to complete the mission. Before starting the mission, I suggest you
memorize the route from the mansion to whatever entrance to the North Point
Mall you choose. You may need to jack a few cars to get there, and once
again, make sure Lance is in the car. If you leave without him, you will have
to go back and get him. After you get back to the mansion, mission complete.
Another way to escape from the mall is to fly away via helicopter. If you
need a helicopter, get 80 hidden packages or get the Maverick from your roof
of the Vercetti Estate. Then, park it next to an entrance to the North Point
Mall. After the explosion, go run in the helicopter. This is risky because
you might get caught since it takes so long for the helicopter to get ready
for take off. But once you get off, you have a clear fly to the Vercetti
Estate. Make sure Lance is also with you when you leave or you will have to
go back for him. After you get back to the mansion, mission complete.
Another strategy is to just forget Lance period at the mall because the cops
won't harm him. Then, go to the nearest Pay N Spray and get your car sprayed
and your wanted level dropped. Then, go back and pick up Lance and go back to
the mansion. After you get back to the mansion, mission complete.
REWARD: $10,000
--Cap The Collector
In this mission, you must stop members of the Mafia from stealing money from
your businesses that you own. The mission starts at the Print Works, and then
it cuts away to the mafia members on a motorcycle. To start this mission, it
is best to have a fast car. You will find the mafia's first target at
Sunshine Autos. If your car is fast enough, you should be able to catch them
at Sunshine Autos, or close to it when they leave. The easiest way to stop
them is to just run them down with your car, then swing around and do a drive
by. The next motorcycle heads to the Malibu club. Just repeat the process of
hitting their bike, then doing a drive by. Another bike will show up, but you
probably won't need to catch them because the mission usually ends after the
second bike's riders are killed. If you do have to kill a third bike, just
use the same process of hitting them with your car and doing a drive by on
them. After that, mission complete.
REWARD: $30,000
--Keep Your Friends Close
This is the last mission in the game. It is very hard. I advise you to have a
MP5, SPAS 12 Gauge Shotgun, M60, Body Armor, and a M4. They make it a lot
easier. Enter the pink marker outside of your office in the Vercetti Estate to
begin. A cut scene commences and you confront Sonny. After that, run up to the
top of the staircase outside the room where you save in the mansion. Then, loads
of guys will start coming from all directions. This is where the SPAS 12 Gauge and
MP5 come in. Just start blasting them. Then, Lance says something and you are
told to kill Lance so shoot him and chase him to the top of the roof. You
cannot kill him before you reach the roof so don't waste too much ammo on the
way there. When you first reach the stairwell that leads to the roof, go all
the way to the bottom and pick up the ammo and the Body Armor. Then, commence
chasing Lance. When there, you must kill everyone in sight including Lance.
Try to shoot any red barrels you see because the explosion will takes out
packs of people. I would use the M4 or M60 for this part. After that, go back
down the stairs and you will have a shootout with Sonny Forelli himself and
his henchmen. To gun them down, pull out either the M60 or M4 and crouch down
behind one of the railings by the stairs where Sonny cannot shoot you. Take
out both of his henchmen then pop a clip into Sonny and he should be dead.
After you down them, mission complete.
REWARD: $30,000
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Avery Carrington
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Four Iron
After meeting with Mr. Carrington, and attaining your membership card, head
over to Jock Sport and pick up your new golfer clothes. After changing, go to
the blip on your radar. Go into the marker. Now you need to go through the
metal detector (which will make you drop any metal weapons) and get into the
Caddy (golf cart). Drive to the new blip and walk up the stairs a bit. The
bodyguards will give chase, so hop in your Caddy and run them over! Make sure
you kill all of them (you can ignore the one in the Caddy that's chasing
you). After getting rid of them, you need to ram the golf cart (blip) over
and over until he gets out of it. Then, kill him and mission complete.
An alternate strategy for this is to hit the golf cart the target uses in the
mission until it tips over. Then, start the mission like normal and then just
kill him. By knocking over his Caddy, he will not be able to drive away so
you can easily kill him now.
Another strategy for this is to jump the ramp by the entrance to the golf
course. This will let you get in with your weapons. Now, just go shoot the
guy and mission complete.
REWARD: $500
--Demolition Man
This is a challenging mission! First, go to the blip after receiving the
mission from Avery. You'll find yourself controlling a remote control
helicopter. Fly right over a bomb (very low) to pick it up. Now fly to the
construction building and lower yourself to ground level. You should find a
staircase going up into the building. Fly your helicopter up the staircases
to the very top. Watch out for security guards and construction workers! If
they get in the way, slice them with your blades. Fly over the barrel that is
marked with a pink circle marker and press the O button. If you miss, just
lower yourself over the bomb to pick it back up. Continue doing this from the
top down, killing anyone who could pose a problem on the way. After you plant
the last bomb, the building will explode and you get your reward money.
REWARD: $1,000
--Two Bit Hit
Start the mission by speaking to Carrington, and head over to the icon to get
your clothes. Stop by Ammu-Nation beforehand if you want. Get in a car and
speed to the blip. A ton of gang members are there, so run them over, or
just try to ignore them. The hearse may drive away, or if your lucky, like I
was, you could just get into the hearse and drive away. If it does happen to
speed away, hop in your car and catch up. Don't drive right behind it, but
get beside it and ram or drive-by it until it's destroyed. Complete this and
you'll get your reward. That's it for Avery.
REWARD: $2,500
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Love Fist
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Love Juice
Love Fist needs some drugs, and they want Tommy to get them. I suggest
getting a fast car, or a PCJ 600 before you start. When you start the
mission, drive to the location where the guy will sell you the ingredients to
make the drugs. Park in the marker, but make sure your facing the road.
When the dealer runs away, floor it. Sometimes he'll swerve right and wreck,
leaving him an easy target. If not, chase him down and smash into his back
tire as hard as you can to send him flying or just drive-by him. Once he's
dead, pick up the stuff and Love Fist will call saying that they need a
chick. Take the most northern bridge over to the first island (the one that
has Prawn Island in the middle) and pick up Mercedes. She'll get in/on your
vehicle and you are rewarded a time limit to get her back. Take her back via
the bridge you came across to get to her apartment, and speed to the studio.
You should get there with some time to spare.
REWARD: $2,000
--Psycho Killer
When you start the mission, Love Fist explains that a madman wants the band
dead, and may be waiting at the autograph-signing event to kill them. You
are sent to the autograph session in Love Fist's limo to try and lure the
psycho out. When you get there, the guy will walk out and shoot some people.
When he gets in his vehicle, drive-by him or repeatedly ram him until you get
your reward.
REWARD: $4,000
--Publicity Tour
This is an easy mission that was taken from the movie Speed. You get in the
Love Fist limo, and find out there's a bomb that will blow if you slow down
too much. When you start, drive straight until you pass the pizza place and
then go around the curve. Take the first right that you come to and just
follow this road until it ends at the docks, and then turn around. It takes
around two minutes overall. You DO NOT need to go full speed the whole time,
just enough so that the meter doesn't start to fill up. If it fills up, the
limo blows up, and you are in pieces! When the bomb is finally diffused,
drive Love Fist to the stage location
REWARD: $8,000
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Big Mitch Baker
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Alloy Wheels of Steel
You have to do these biker missions before you can finish Love Fist's jobs,
so let's go over these now. Mitch won't let you do any jobs until you've
proven you can ride a hog. I suggest trying to find a PCJ 600 (may be in the
glass showcase across the street from the bar) or a Freeway. The Angel is
nice looking, but the other two are faster. Get to the starting point and the
race begins. You need to get to the checkpoints as fast as possible, and
wreck as little as possible! Use R1 braking for the corners so you don't
lose as much speed. You can't get rid of your opponents, so don't waste your
time. If you're lucky, they may crash along the way, giving you a better
lead. You need to finish in first place to beat this mission. Have fun
riding those cycles at fast speeds!
Another strategy for this is to steal one of the bikes that the bikers are
riding to use in the race thus eliminating one of the drivers. You could also
park a car in front of the racers causing them to run into it and crash
giving you a quick lead.
REWARD: $1,000
--Messing With The Man
This is a tough mission to complete. Mitch explains how a family looks out
for it's members and tells you to go raise some hell in town. Before starting
the mission, pick up a lot of Tec9/Uzi ammo and find a PCJ 600. When it
starts, you find yourself with both a time limit, and a chaos meter. The
objective is to fill the chaos meter before your time runs out. Just hold
down O and drive around, shooting anything that moves. If you have access to
a helicopter, land it beside the bar, and when the mission starts, hop in and
fly on top of the bar, then raise hell and induce panic. Also, a few rockets
won't hurt. I've heard that you can find a big vehicle, and drive it
somewhere secluded with very few people around, and just unleash ammo onto
it. Even after it blows up, keep shooting and your meter should continue to
fill. Ignore the stars you get, and just keep shooting.
REWARD: $2,000
--Hog Tied
This is a fairly easy mission to do. Start the mission, and go get a
helicopter and some sniper rifle rounds along with a few semi-auto weapon
rounds. Don't bother doing it with a bike, as it says to. Just land your
copter of a near-by rooftop and sniper and guards or men you can find.
Baker's hog can be found under the "overhang" of the northern building, and
will have two guards by it, so try to take them out. Once you think you have
all of the guys killed, switch to your semi-automatic weapon and jump down
into the area where his bike is. It should say that you've been spotted, and
a few guys will run after you. Kill them and hop on the hog. In the
northwest corner of the compound, there's a set of stairs that you can ramp
to get out. Once your out, watch out for the red gang vans, and speed back
to the bar.
REWARD: $4,000
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Assassination Missions- Phone Missions
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Road Kill
This is an extremely easy mission. Get in a car, and get to the phone on your
radar. Once there, you'll talk to the anonymous caller and he'll tell you to
kill the pizza boy. The object is to kill the pizza boy before he completes
delivering his orders. Just hit his Pizza Boy and run him over while he is
down or pull a drive by on him. I suggest using a fast car such as an
Infernus or Cheetah, but if you have one available to you, use a motorbike
like a PCJ600, Angel, Freeway, or Sanchez. Do this and mission complete.
REWARD: $500
--Waste The Wife
Get a durable yet fast car and go to the phone icon on your radar. After
talking you'll have to go to the blip on your radar and park in the circle
marker. Once the wife comes out of the store and gets into her vehicle, go
full speed and chase her down. You need to fill up the damage bar so she
catches on fire. Switch cars if you need to, as she won't drive too far away.
Once the meter fills, get out of there or the mission will be a failure. You
cannot drive-by the car because it must look like a car accident so weapons
are out of the question.
REWARD: $2,000
--Autocide
This is a pretty fun and easy mission to complete if done right. After
receiving your directions from the anonymous caller, pick up the weapons he
provided and the PCJ600 parked nearby. Then, go to the blip on your radar.
The man will be on a sign pretty high up, so jump out and pick him off with
your sniper rifle. The next guy is in a Securicar. Snipe him through the
windshield for an easy kill. Try to get a location along the road by the
shoreline in Ocean Beach. Try to get close enough to see him but not too
close because he will see you and drive away. If he does drive away, just do
drive bys on him until he explodes. Franco and Marcus are in a bobcat. Snipe
the driver if you can. If not, then drive-by the vehicle until it explodes.
If they see you, one guy will get out of the Bobcat with a sawed off shotgun
and start trying to shoot you so keep your distance from him and try to shoot
him. Then, go drive by the guy in the Bobcat until he explodes. The next guy
is out on his yacht. Be extra careful and take your time aiming. If you miss,
just start unloading rounds into the yacht itself until it explodes. The last
guy is on a PCJ600. To easily kill him, just drive-by him or run him over.
REWARD: $4,000
--Check out at the check in
This is a pretty easy mission. Once the talk is over upon starting the
mission, pick up the sniper rifle and follow the woman with the arrow over
her head. Don't get too close, or she'll know your there. There's a bar at
the top that shows if she notices you or not. If it starts to fill, walk
backwards and it will go back down. Try to keep it at around halfway filled.
When the exchange is made, shoot the guy that has the briefcase. Then, take
out the guard he was walking with. Run up and grab the briefcase. Then, run
outside and hop in your vehicle and go to Ammu-Nation, and walk to the
marker. Do this and mission complete.
REWARD: $8,000
--Loose Ends
Get a helicopter, and quite a few sniper rifle rounds. Start the mission and
get in your copter. There's a deal going down, and you want whatever you can.
Beware of the many hidden guys around here. Fly up on the roof to the north
of the Ice Cream Factory and take out your sniper. Snipe and visible guys
you can. They'll be everywhere. Lob some grenades down to take out some
guys if you want to make it a little easier. Once you kill as many guys as
you can, jump to the top of the factory, and take the briefcase. Jump in the
helicopter and fly to the airport helipad to collect your money. That's it
for the anonymous caller.
REWARD: $16,000

Phil Cassidy
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Gun Runner
Get a big vehicle that's fairly fast, and some semi-auto rounds. Start the
mission. You need to ram the back of the weaponry carrying vehicles, and
collect the guns that they drop. Get them fast, or the group of Sanchez
riding fools will show up! Once you collect all the weapons, you need to kill
off the remaining dealers. Do this and it's mission complete!
REWARD: $2,000
--Boomshine Saigon
Ever wonder how Phil lost his arm? I loved this mission! He's drunk enough to
put the batteries in right by the explosives and blow his arm off in the
process! Stupid Phil! This was my second most favorite mission in the game.
You need to get Phil to the hospital. Sounds easy right? Wrong! Your
intoxicated, and you have a drunk bleeding man in the vehicle! Try to get on
straight roads so you don't have to turn much. When you turn, you really
swerve! That's pretty fun, but it gets hard when Phil starts talking. When
he said, "Are the roads made of jelly?", I laughed so hard I wrecked. Once
you get to the hospital, he says not to take him there. He tells you about a
buddy from "Viet Cong". Take him there to complete the mission. He just gets
out and walks to his friends, blood spurting the whole few steps.
REWARD: $4,000

Auntie Poulet- The Haitians
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Juju Scramble
Get a car that can withstand a good amount of damage, and start the mission.
Auntie reminds you of Ms. Cleo, doesn't she! You need to race to each stash
and collect it before the police get them! There are three "stashes" of her
"magic powders". Yellow arrows represent them. If you have a good vehicle,
this shouldn't be too hard. You'll end up having four stars on you. Evade
the police and get the powders to her!
REWARD: 1,000
--Bombs Away
Start the mission and get to the Top Fun van. Its title fits this mission
pretty snug! These remote control planes aren't the easiest things to
control, even for a guy with a 17-hour dodo record! Yes, I flew it that long.
Hold down gas on the roadway, and pull back on the analog stick. When the
plane gets into the air, don't let it start back down. Tap the stick down
when it starts to decline. Fly over to the location on your radar with all
the yellow blips. You'll be under gunfire, but bomb the car you see sitting
in the grass first. The plane itself is not what blows up. There is a
regenerating bomb on the bottom that drops when you press the O button. I
figure this out after being stuck on this mission for 20 tries! Once the car
blows, drop as many as you can with the plane as you can. Take out any boats
if possible. When that plane blows up, if it does, you get another one back
at the van. Take off and drop bombs on the boats. Fly in really low if that
helps. Take out every yellow blip to complete the mission.
REWARD: $2,000
--Dirty Lickin's
Before you start, go pick up a rocket launcher from the Hooker Inn pool. When
you start, go across the street, and up the stairs. Pull out your Sniper
Rifle, and shoot the Cubans as fast as you can! After a few shots, a van
full of backups will show up. Shoot them fast and watch the right hand side
of the yard for the other group of backups. When you see these guys, pull
out your rocket launcher and shoot a rocket into the middle of the line,
which should take them out. If not, pick off the other guys. Once you kill
them all, you pass the mission.
REWARD: $4,000

Umberto- The Cubans
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Stunt Boat Challenge
This is more or less a initiation. Just drive the boat through the
checkpoints to get your reward. You got some big cojones if you beat it!
REWARD: $1,000
--Cannon Fodder
Get a few Tec9 rounds, and a rocket launcher. Start the mission. When you
and your three buddies get there, the other Cubans are already fighting.
Jump out and launch a rocket or two at the car in the alley to kill them off.
Pull out your Tec9 and kill the surviving Haitians. When they charge, you'll
find that there's a sniper on the roof. Use the Sniper Rifle provided to
make a quick corpse of him, and press forward. When you reach the big open
area, just blast everyone with your Tec9. Don't get into the van right away,
or it'll get too damaged or it's tires shot out, ma
