2. Introduction
********************************************************************************

This a walkthrough and strategy guide for the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City game.
It is the fourth game in the GTA series and follows the very successful Grand
Theft Auto III. Whether you have played GTAIII before or not, you will be
amazed at all there is to do. There are numerous weapons you can choose from
(so many that you may have to decide which ones you want to carry), different
types of cars, numerous missions and different things to do. You will even hear
some big name Hollywood actors as the voices of the characters.

With any action-based game, there are difficult parts as well as some easy
parts. The goal of this guide is to help you accomplish each of the tasks and
not to tell the story (that will come as you play the game). Each mission will
indicate when it is available to do, a description of what you must do in the
mission, a strategy for how to complete portions of it and possibly some tips
that can be used to make the mission easier. The strategy provided for each
mission or objective is only ONE way it can be done, there can be many. It is
recommended that a mission be attempted before reading the strategy for it. You
may find that the way you completed the mission is the same or is completely
different. Bear in mind that there is no right or wrong way to complete a
mission. The guide is only meant as an aid.

Since most of the non-storyline objectives can be done in any order, there is
little or no assumption as to what has already been completed when presenting
the mission strategy (although finishing some items earlier is definitely
helpful).

When specific traveling directions are given to reach a particular destination,
the directions given are based primarily on the on-screen radar (e.g., begin
traveling south and turn left at second intersection). The starting point for
directions to items required for 100% game completion (e.g., hidden packages,
rampages, etc.) will either be the initial save point (on the east island), one
of the middle islands, or a bridge connecting two of the islands. For items not
required for 100% game completion (e.g., weapons, police bribes, etc.), the
direction's starting point may also be a landmark. Each landmark that is used
can be found on the in-box map. All directions are based on major road
intersections (indicated by a black line on the on-screen radar). If the
directions call for use of an alley (indicated by a light gray line on the on-
screen radar) or non-main road, these are specifically indicated in the
direction. When the directions specify a certain numbered intersection, this
refers to the numbered intersection where it is possible to travel in the
indicated direction. Any intersections where it is possible to turn only in the
OPPOSITE direction are to be disregarded and NOT counted as an intersection.
For example, if the direction says "Turn right at the third intersection", you
would count the number of opportunities to turn right (either a side street (|-)
or a crossroad (+)) and turn when you reach the third one. In this example, any
opportunities to only turn left (e.g., a side street (-|) are ignored and not
included when counting intersections. This method will not apply to T
intersections. A T intersection will have a specific turn right/left at T
intersection direction (so if you are looking for a turning opportunity and you
come to a T intersection, either you are in the wrong place or the directions
are wrong). Using this method will make the driving directions easy to follow.

Finally, there are documented glitches in the game (e.g., the ability to get to
the west island early, etc.). While there is nothing wrong with exploiting
these if it enhances your gaming experience, this guide will not take advantage
of any these glitches and is beyond its scope.

4.3 Vehicles
********************************************************************************

This section gives a description of each of the available vehicles found in the
game. Some vehicles have a fixed location, while others can only be found while
traveling around. Most of the cars "spawned" when you are driving around are of
the same type as the vehicle you are driving (e.g., if you are driving an
Infernus, most of the other cars you will see will be Inferenus or sports cars).
Some vehicles with a fixed location may not always be there. If a vehicle is
not there, simply drive a few blocks away in a direction other than the one you
came from and it should be there.

Damage will occur to all vehicles when you strike other objects such as cars,
buildings, trees, etc. When a vehicle begins emitting white smoke, it has
sustained moderate damage. If the vehicle suffers additional damage, the smoke
will turn black. This indicates the vehicle has severe damage and you should
consider finding an alternate vehicle soon. If flames begin to appear from the
vehicle, it is going to explode in a matter of seconds. If you are in the
vehicle, you must exit VERY QUICKLY or you will be killed when it explodes.

4.5 Health and Body Armor
********************************************************************************

In the top right corner of your screen is a red number that represents your
health level. If your health reaches 000, you will fail your current mission,
be automatically transported to the nearest hospital, lose some money and lose
all of your weapons. Located throughout the city are health icons (pink circle
containing a heart) that will replenish your life to its maximum. Section 4.5.1
lists the health locations. You can also go to any of the Well Stacked Pizza
stores in the city (located in Vice Point, Downtown and Little Haiti) or the
fast food stores in the North Point Mall in Vice Point (near the east and west
entrances) to "eat" to restore your health. It will cost you $1 for every
health unit needed to return your health to its maximum. For example, if your
health is at 25 and the maximum is 100, it will cost you $75. It is important
to keep an eye on your health.

Also located in the city is body armor (gray body armor icon). This will give
you added protection from injury. When you have body armor, the gray number
displayed next to your health level represents the body armor level. Once the
body armor reaches 000, any further injury will cause your health to diminish.
Body armor can also be purchased at any of the Ammu-Nation stores located in
Vice City. It is a good idea to keep the body armor at its maximum since this
makes it take longer for you to die.

There are also adrenaline icons within the city (pink circle containing a pill).
This will cause everything to slow down, but also give you additional strength.
The effect of the adrenaline pill only lasts for a short amount of time.

********************************************************************************
4.6 Wanted Level
********************************************************************************

In the top right corner of your screen are six black stars. This represents
your Wanted Level, or how much the police want you. As you do illegal things
(running over or killing someone within sight of a cop, stealing a car within
sight of a cop, stealing a cop car, running over a cop or shooting at the
police) your wanted level will increase. As your level increases, more and more
authorities are sent after you.

1 star – Cops come after you but eventually give up (easy)
2 stars – More cops come after you, are more persistent and don't give up (hard)
3 stars – Undercover cops in fast sports cars and a helicopter come after you,
as well as the cops will set up roadblocks and put down "stop" sticks (tough)
4 stars – SWAT comes after you driving Enforcers, carrying submachine guns and
putting up barricades (very tough)
5 stars – FBI comes after you driving Ranchers and carrying machine guns
(extremely tough)
6 stars – Army (including tanks) come after you with heavy machine guns (nearly
impossible)

If you are in a vehicle with a wanted level and are pulled out by a cop, you are
busted. You will be transported to the nearest police station, will lose some
money and all of your weapons.

********************************************************************************
4.6.1 Lowering the Wanted Level
********************************************************************************

Once you have a wanted level, there are several ways to get rid of it. If you
only have 1 star, you can simple drive around for a while and the wanted level
will eventually disappear. For all other levels, any the following can be used:

- Picking up a police bribe (pink circle with a star) will lower the wanted
level by 1.

- Changing clothes will eliminate a 1 or 2 star wanted level.

- If you are in a vehicle, going to a Pay 'n' Spray will eliminate the wanted
level. Once the vehicle has been sprayed, the wanted level stars will flash.
If you commit an illegal act while the stars are flashing, the same wanted level
will be reinstated (so be careful until the stars stop flashing).

- If you successfully complete a mission, any wanted level you have is removed.

- Go to a save point and save the game. If you reload the game, the wanted
level will be gone.

trim that says "I completed Vice City and all I got was this lousy t-shirt")
6. Ability to hire bodyguards at your mansion – Travel go Washington Beach and
then return to Starfish Island and in the west room on the lower level of the
mansion are 3 bodyguards for hire.

********************************************************************************
4.8 General Tips and Strategies
********************************************************************************

Here are some general tips and strategies to use while playing the game:

- Find the hidden packages as early as possible once they can be obtained (i.e.,
at the beginning, when the second island is unlocked or a particular mission
completed, etc.). The reason is that this acquiring the package rewards early
will allow for their use later in the game and can be quite beneficial on some
missions.

- Try to always pick up your hidden package reward weapons before you save the
game. If you are already carrying the weapon, it will increase the ammunition
you are carrying for it. This can eliminate (or reduce) having to worry about
running out in the middle of a mission. This is the reason why it is
recommended to find as many hidden packages as possible before beginning the
storyline missions.

- Complete the Pizza Boy, Vigilante, and Paramedic missions as early as possible
since having 150 health, 150 armor and infinite sprint, respectively, are a
definite advantage later in the game.

- Completing the side missions (especially unique jumps and rampages) on an
island before beginning the island's storyline missions is recommended. This is
because as the story progresses, the ability to complete some of these missions
will become more difficult.

- Earn as much money as you can before starting the storyline missions. Money
is crucial to being able to buy items you need (assets, safe houses, etc.).
This is another reason why it is recommended to do the side missions before
beginning the storyline missions since they will increase your cash.

- When driving, learn to use the handbrake to swing the car's rear around a
corner (known as power sliding). This can be extremely beneficial in timed
missions.

- When driving in a timed mission, be sure to use any available shortcut.

- If you exit a vehicle and immediately run away before the door is closed, the
vehicle will USUALLY remain at the location for a long period. If the door is
closed or the car would be seen in a cinematic, the car will probably have
disappeared when you return.

- Always start a mission with full health and armor to make it harder for you to
be killed.

- Learn the location of the important places in the city, especially Pay 'n'
Spray and police bribe locations. When you really need to get to these
locations (i.e., when you have a wanted level), it is much easier to be able to
watch the road instead of having to refer to the on-screen radar or in-box map
to figure out how to get to the location.

- If you die or you are busted, ALWAYS, ALWAYS reload from a saved game.
Otherwise, you will lose all of the weapons and ammunition you were carrying,
your body armor (if you had it) and some money.

- Since there is no penalty for saving often, DO SO! Otherwise you run the risk
of having to repeat missions if you die or are busted before saving (if, of
course, you follow the tip to always reload from a saved game after dying or
getting busted).

- Buying safe houses on the east island and assets on the west island as soon as
you have the money for them is a good idea because each one is also a save point
location. This eliminates having to drive all the way across the city to save
the game.

- Try to remember to always pick up the money on a regular basis from the assets
earning money. Each one is a good way to increase your cash. You do not want
them to sit at their maximum value for too long of a time.

- Finish all of the missions for a particular person before starting missions
for another person.

- You will lose any wanted level you have when you successfully complete a
mission.

- While driving, you can damage other vehicles by doing a drive-by shooting.
This is useful for missions where you have to chase or ram someone since this
will also damage their vehicle.

5. Storyline Missions Walkthrough
********************************************************************************

********************************************************************************
5.1 'An Old Friend'
********************************************************************************

Available: At the start of a new game.

Description: This is not actually a mission. When you start a new game, several
cinematics are shown to give you the storyline plot. Once the cinematic at Ken
Rosenburg's office is complete, get into the car next to you and drive to the
pink blip on the on-screen radar. When you reach the pink blip (also indicated
by a pink marker), you are at the Ocean View Hotel. Go inside of the hotel and
walk into the pink marker at the bottom of the stairs. You will see another
cinematic that provides additional plot information. Once it is over, you can
explore Vice City or head to the Ken's office (indicated by an 'L' on your on-
screen radar and map) to begin his missions.

This hotel is also a save point. You can return to any save point when not on a
mission to save your game. Simply walk into the pink cassette tape icon to save
the game. The hotel also has a hidden package pick up. At the end of the
hallway at the top of the stairs, there is a hallway to your left, a hallway to
your right and a room at the end of the right hallway. Any hidden package
rewards delivered to the hotel will appear in either one of the hallways or in
the room. The room will also contain a street clothes pick up once the 'The
Party' mission has been completed. Remember this for later in the game.

Strategy: None needed

********************************************************************************
5.2 Ken Rosenburg
********************************************************************************

These missions are started from the lawyer's office in Washington Beach and are
indicated by an 'L' on your on-screen radar and map.

********************************************************************************
5.2.1 'The Party'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of 'An Old Friend'.

Description: Drive to Rafael's clothes store to pick up a suit. Drive to
Colonel Cortez's yacht at the Ocean Beach marina and then drive the Colonel's
daughter (Mercedes) to the Pole Position Club.

Strategy: None needed

********************************************************************************
5.2.2 'Back Alley Brawl'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'The Party' mission.

Description: Drive to the Malibu Club to meet Kent Paul for information. Drive
to the alley in Washington Beach to kill the chef and take his cell phone.
After he is dead, get to the waiting car and drive to Ammu-Nation in Ocean Beach
and then drive to the Ocean View hotel.

Strategy: Run to the waiting car and do not fight the 3 chefs that appear (as
you may get injured).

********************************************************************************
5.2.3 'Jury Fury'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Back Alley Brawl' mission.

Description: Destroy the car of each of the two jurors with a melee weapon.
(Note: The juror in the south part of the city must be hit once (and not killed)
so he gets into his car before you destroy it.)

Strategy: None needed

********************************************************************************
5.2.4 'Riot'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Jury Fury' mission.

Description: Drive to Rafael's clothes store to pick up some coveralls. Drive
to the Spand Express Shipping Company and begin fighting with at least 4
protesters to start a riot. Once the riot has started, destroy the trucks
inside of the gates.

Strategy: After the riot has started, shoot the red barrels near the trucks
since this will cause an explosion that should destroy the near-by trucks (just
be sure you are far enough away from them or you will be injured).

Tip: When the riot begins, kill the 4 protesters you started fighting with since
they will continue to attack you.

********************************************************************************
5.3 Colonel Cortez
********************************************************************************

These missions are started from the Colonel's yacht at the Ocean Beach Marina.
They are indicated by a 'C' on your on-screen radar and map.

********************************************************************************
5.3.1 'Treacherous Swine'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Riot' mission.

Description: Drive to Gonzalez's penthouse in Vice Point. Once he sees you, he
will start to run and you need to chase and kill him. After he is killed, you
will have a wanted level of 2. Drive to the Pay 'n' Spray in Vice Point to get
rid of the wanted level (and complete the mission).

Strategy: None needed

Tip: You can use any weapon to kill Gonzalez (you do not need to use the
chainsaw that Cortez gives you) or run him over with a vehicle after he exits
the building.

********************************************************************************
5.3.2 'Mall Shootout'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Treacherous Swine' mission.

Description: Drive to the Washington Mall to meet the courier. After the French
police arrive, the courier will flee on a PCJ 600. You need to chase and kill
the courier. Once you kill the courier, he will drop the guidance chips and you
will have a wanted level of 2. Pick up the guidance chips and return them to
Cortez's yacht.

Strategy: If you have a sub-machine gun, chase the courier using the PCJ 600
located outside of the mall where he exits. The sub-machine gun can be fired
directly ahead while on a motorcycle and this makes killing the courier easy.
If you do not have a sub-machine gun, get into a car (or the PCJ 600 if a car
cannot be quickly found), ram the courier to force him to crash and then run
over him to kill him.

Tip: There is a Pay 'n' Spray in Ocean Beach that you can use to remove the
wanted level if needed.

********************************************************************************
5.3.3 'Guardian Angels'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Mall Shootout' mission.

Description: Drive to the first floor of the parking garage behind the Ocean
View hotel to find a Ruger and meet up with Lance. Go with Lance to meet with
Ricardo Diaz. After you reach your position at the top of the staircase to the
right, Cuban gang members will arrive to meet with Diaz. Shortly afterwards,
Haitian gang members will arrive and kill the Cubans and begin attacking Diaz
and Lance. If either Diaz or Lance is killed, the mission is a failure. After
the Haitian gang members are dead, two more will appear on Sanchezs and steal
Diaz's money. One of them will get away. You need to follow him and kill him.
Once you kill him, he will drop the money. Pick up the money and return it to
Diaz.

Strategy: Shoot all of the gang members that arrive (be careful not to hit
Diaz). When the gang member flees on the Sanchez, pick up the Uzi and get on
the other Sanchez. The Uzi can be fired directly ahead while on a motorcycle
and this makes killing the gang member on the Sanchez easy.

Tip: It is easier to use an auto-aim weapon to kill the gang members (you do not
have to use the Ruger you picked up at the garage).

Tip: You do not need to stay at the top of the staircase. Being on the ground
makes it a little easier to hit the gang members (especially if using an auto-
aim weapon).

********************************************************************************
5.3.4 'Sir, Yes Sir!'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Phnom Penh '86' mission.

Description: Drive to main highway on the west island where you will find an
army convoy traveling south. You need to steal the convoy's tank (Rhino). The
doors to the tank are locked until the occupants are lured out. If the tank
arrives at its destination at the docks in Vice Port, the mission is a failure.
After stealing the tank, you will have a wanted level of 3 and the army will
activate a self-destruct mechanism. Drive the tank to the garage in Little
Havana before the detonation meter fills up completely. If the detonation meter
fills up completely, the tank will explode, you will be killed and the mission
is a failure.

Strategy: The army troops carry automatic rifles so a direct assault on the
convoy is difficult. If you destroy the convoy's Barracks OLs and Patriot with
a rocket launcher, the convoy will stop. However, you must now contend with the
troops who will attack you. Once all of the troops are killed, the tank's
occupants will flee and you can steal the tank.

Strategy: Follow the convoy until it stops at the donut shop in Little Havana.
The tank occupants will get out of the tank. When this occurs, the tank can be
easily stolen.

Tip: Once inside of the tank, begin moving QUICKLY so the army troops do not
pull you out. Once moving, KEEP MOVING since bullets will not harm the tank and
any cars that touch the tank are destroyed.

********************************************************************************
5.3.5 'All Hands on Deck!'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Death Row' mission.

Description: Once the Colonel's yacht leaves the docks, French government agents
in three boats will pursue it. You need to kill the agents on the boats. After
the agents are killed, a blockade will appear and the French will send small
rafts with agents to board the yacht. The ultimate goal is to destroy the three
boats in the middle of the blockade in order for the yacht to proceed. When a
raft reaches the yacht, agents will board the yacht and will shoot at you,
Cortez and his men. At some point, a Sparrow will approach the boat from the
front right side. If the helicopter is not destroyed quickly, agents will repel
down to the yacht. After the helicopter is destroyed, a second Sparrow will
approach from the same direction. After the second helicopter is destroyed, a
Hunter will approach the yacht from the rear left side and shoot at the yacht
with its machine guns. Once the Hunter and blockade are destroyed, the mission
is complete.

Pre-Mission Setup: Before starting this mission, get a sniper rifle and the
rocket launcher with at least 15-20 rockets. You should also get an auto-aim
weapon such as the Colt Python.

Strategy: Use the sniper rife to pick off the agents in the three attacking
boats. The rocket launcher can used to destroy the boats if you have a good
number of rockets (30 or more). When the blockade is first seen, the rafts will
not begin moving immediately. After they do start moving, they will circle the
yacht several times before the agents begin boarding. During the time after the
blockade is seen and before the agents begin boarding, use the rocket launcher
to destroy as many of the three center boats in the blockade as you can. Before
the agents begin boarding (Cortez will say "Tommy, we are being overrun by the
French"), move to the rear deck, equip the auto-aim weapon and ignore the rafts
circling the yacht. Once French agents begin to appear at the ladders to the
lower deck, shoot them with the gun. When the first Sparrow arrives, equip the
rocket launcher and shoot it down (one shot will destroy it). You will need to
re-equip the auto-aim weapon to kill the agents that will continue to appear at
the ladders. Repeat the same process of equipping the rocket launcher to shoot
down the helicopter and re-equipping the auto-aim weapon to kill the agents when
the second Sparrow and the Hunter arrives. After destroying the Hunter (which
requires 3 shots to destroy), if the three center boats in the blockade have not
been eliminated, go to the front of the yacht and destroy the boats. You will
have to re-equip the auto-aim weapon to kill the agents that will continually
appear on the deck until the boats are destroyed.

Tip: There is a health icon located on the rear deck.

Tip: When firing the rocket launcher at the boat blockade, be sure of your aim
so that it does not hit part of the yacht (e.g., the railing) since this will
inflict injury on you.

Tip: When the Hunter appears, concentrate on destroying it and ignore any agents
on the deck firing at you (even if you are taking injury). This is because the
Hunter inflicts more damage than the agents do.

5.4 Ricardo Diaz
********************************************************************************

These missions are started from the mansion on Starfish Island and are indicated
by a 'D' on your on-screen radar and map.

********************************************************************************
5.4.1 'The Chase'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Guardian Angels' mission.

Description: Drive to the thief's apartment in Vice Point. After the cinematic,
follow the man on foot across several rooftops and then in a vehicle to his
hideout on Prawn Island.

Strategy: While driving, the BF Injector you are chasing will shoot at you.
Keep your distance to avoid having your tires shot out. This makes it harder to
control the vehicle (especially if the Faggio is used).

Tip: Even though there is a Faggio available when you jump off the roof, you can
use any vehicle.

********************************************************************************
5.4.2 'Phnom Penh '86'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'The Chase' mission.

Description: While Lance is flying a Maverick, you must kill all the gang
members using a M60 at the hideout on Prawn Island from the previous mission.
The helicopter will hover at 5 different locations. You must kill all of the
gang members at a location before the helicopter moves to the next one. While
hovering, the gang members will shoot at the helicopter. If the helicopter's
health reaches 0, it will explode, you will be killed and the mission is a
failure. After you have killed the gang members at the last location, the
Maverick will land. When this happens, you must kill the gang members inside of
the house and retrieve a briefcase of money located on the roof.

Strategy: When flying, the M60 will have unlimited ammunition so you do not need
to worry about conserving it (so don't stop firing). At some hover locations,
you will see red barrels located on the roof. Shoot these to cause an explosion
that will kill the near-by gang members. You will also see vehicles near the
gang members at some hover locations. Shoot at the vehicles since they are
easier targets and the explosion will kill the near-by gang members. Once the
helicopter lands, your ammunition is limited.

Tip: When flying, use the white smoke trail from the gunshots to help to
determine the location of the shooter.

Tip: When on the ground, using an auto-aim weapon makes it easier to kill the
remaining gang members (you do not have to use the M60).

********************************************************************************
5.4.3 'The Fastest Boat'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Phnom Penh '86' mission.

Description: Drive to the Vice Port docks. Once there, you will learn that the
boat is being held out of the water by a crane. You will need to get to the
switch used to lower the boat into the water. Once the boat is lowered, get
into it. You will now have a wanted level of 3. Drive the boat to the Diaz
mansion jetty.

Strategy: Before leaving the mansion, pick up the sniper rifle located inside of
the mansion's hedge maze. Once you reach the docks, use the sniper rife to kill
some of the gang members from a safe distance (before they begin shooting at
you). Once the gang members that you can see are dead, run into the building to
activate the switch and then run to the boat, killing the gang members along the
way that are blocking your path. Once you get in the boat, ignore the police
boats that are chasing you and simply proceed to the Diaz mansion.

Tip: If you have completed the Paramedic side mission and have infinite sprint,
you can simply run quickly to the switch and then the boat and not to worry
about shooting the gang members (although you will need to watch your health
since you will be injured from their gunfire).

********************************************************************************
5.4.4 'Supply & Demand'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'The Fastest Boat' mission.

Description: Walk to the jetty behind the Diaz mansion where you will find the
fastest boat from the previous mission. You will have to race other boats to a
drug dealer's yacht. If you do not reach the yacht before the other boats, the
mission is a failure. Once you reach the yacht, Lance will now drive the boat
and you will use a Ruger to shoot attacking gang members. Behind you will be
two boats that must be destroyed. These boats will continue to follow and shoot
at you until they are destroyed. Next, you will pass a jetty on the right side
of the boat with gunmen on it. Next, from the rear, a Sparrow will attack you
that you must destroy. Finally, there will be a boat in front of you whose
occupants you must kill. If your boat sustains too much damage, it will
explode, you will die and the mission is a failure.

Strategy: When the boat race begins, you will have a choice of a route on the
left or right of the island. The route on the left is the easier one. When
shooting, the Ruger will have unlimited ammunition so you do not need to worry
about conserving it (so don't stop firing). Destroying the last boat can cause
damage to your boat and/or injury to you if it is too close when it explodes.
You should attempt to only kill the occupants of the boat.

********************************************************************************
5.4.5 'Rub Out'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Death Row' mission.

Description: The front door of the mansion is locked so you will have to go
around to the back of the mansion and enter through the door to the right of the
swimming pool that is under the roof. Once inside, you have to proceed up the
stairs and through one of the hallways to the main hall. Once at the hall, you
need to kill Diaz. As you proceed through the mansion, Lance will cover you and
shoot some of the bodyguards. If Lance's health reaches 0, the mission is a
failure.

Once you complete this mission, the Diaz mansion (now called the Vercetti
Estate) will become a save point, there will be a hidden package reward pick up
in the front to the left of the left garage and a street clothes pick up in the
office. The mansion will now also contain a health, armor, M4 and Shotgun pick
up in the room next to the entrance from/exit to the pool (the same door you
used to enter the mansion).

Pre-Mission Setup: Before starting this mission, get a sniper rifle and an auto-
aim sub-machine gun such as the Uzi 9mm.

Strategy: Upon entering the mansion compound, use the sniper rifle to kill all
of the guards in view and then equip your auto-aim sub-machine gun. Use the
left side of the mansion to get to the backdoor since it is easier than having
to go through the hedge maze. As you proceed around the mansion, kill any
guards you see. Once inside, go up to the third floor hallway, killing the
guards you come across. Advance down the hallway to the main hall. When you
reach the hall, stop and kill the guards that you see. Once you begin to move
towards the office, Diaz will come out to fight. Auto-aim at him, begin
shooting and start moving towards the office but do not get too close since he
will be shooting at you. When Diaz retreats inside the office, follow him in
and continue shooting. It will take a significant amount of shots to kill him,
but eventually he will die.

Tip: You can ignore any wanted level you may get while shooting outside because
you should already be inside of the mansion before any police arrive.

Tip: There is a health icon in a room to the right of the staircase in the main
hall.

********************************************************************************
5.5 Kent Paul
********************************************************************************

These missions are started from the Malibu Club in Vice Point and are indicated
by a 'K' on your on-screen radar and map.

********************************************************************************
5.5.1 'Death Row'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Sir, Yes Sir!' and 'Supply & Demand'
missions.

Description: Drive to the junkyard in Little Haiti. Break through the car
barricade at the entrance and rescue Lance from the building in the northwest
corner where he is being held captive. While Lance is held captive, his health
will slowly diminish. Once he is rescued, you will then need to drive him to
the hospital in Downtown, while being chased by gang members in sports cars. If
Lance's health reaches 0, the mission is a failure.

Pre-Mission Setup: Before starting this mission, get a sniper rifle or the
rocket launcher. You should also get an auto-aim weapon such as the Colt
Python.

Strategy: To get through the barricade, use either a sniper rifle to kill the
gang members at the entrance or the rocket launcher to destroy the car barricade
(which will kill the nearby gang members). After entering the junkyard, use the
auto-aim weapon to eliminate the gang members. After rescuing Lance, get into
either the Sentinel parked next to the building where Lance was held or the
Trashmaster located in the middle of the yard. Since you will be rammed by the
gang members when they are chasing you, the Trashmaster is better since it does
not become as damaged as the Sentinel and will not spin out when hit. However,
the Trashmaster will be gone after you rescue Lance if you do not get into it
and then out of it before freeing Lance. If you can avoid being hit by the gang
member cars, you can easily outrun them in the Sentinel.

********************************************************************************
5.6 Tommy Vercetti
********************************************************************************

These missions are started from the Vercetti Estate on Starfish Island and are
indicated by a 'V' on your on-screen radar and map.

********************************************************************************
5.6.1 'Shakedown'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Rub Out' mission.

Description: Drive to North Point Mall and break the windows of several stores
inside of the mall. There are 5 storefront windows that need to be broken
(Gash, Tarbrush Café, the book store, the jewelry store, and Vinyl Countdown).
As the windows are destroyed, your wanted level will increase. You have a time
limit of 5 minutes to break all of the windows. If the timer reaches 0:00, the
mission is a failure.

Pre-Mission Setup: Before starting this mission, make sure you have a manual aim
machine gun (such as the M4 or Ruger). An auto-aim machine gun can also be
used, but this makes it harder to aim at the windows.

Strategy: When you start the mission, use the Infernus located next to the
garage to drive as fast as possible to the mall. When you arrive at the mall,
enter via the southwest entrance. After entering the mall, Gash is on your
right. Beginning with the windows that you see, break all of the windows around
the first floor of the store. When you have destroyed all of the windows and
are on the east side of the store, turn around and go to the Tarbrush Café that
is across the courtyard. After breaking the windows of the café, turn around
and head to the escalators in front of the Gash store. Go up the escalators and
destroy the windows around the second floor of the store. Once done, follow the
walkway to the west until you come to the Vinyl Countdown store. Break these
windows and then turn around and go down the closest set of escalators on the
north side of the walkway bridge. Once you reach the bottom, head to the
northwest to find the bookstore. When you have smashed the bookstore's windows,
turn around and head east to the other side of the mall to find the jewelry
store. Once the jewelry store's windows are broken, the mission is complete.

Tip: Do not exit the mall since this will restore any broken windows!

Tip: There is a casual clothes pick up in front of the second floor entrance to
Gash that can be used to eliminate a wanted level of 1 or 2.

Tip: Once you finish breaking a store's windows, un-equip the current weapon so
that you can sprint to the next store. This will save time.

********************************************************************************
5.6.2 'Bar Brawl'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Shakedown' mission.

Description: Drive to Front Page Café in Ocean Beach and kill the guards in the
front. After a conversation with the owner, drive to the DBP Security building
a few streets over and kill all of the security guards. Two of the guards will
attempt to escape on motorcycles and a Securicar will chase and ram you. After
the conversation with the owner, you have a time limit of 5 minutes to kill all
of the security guards. If the timer reaches 0:00, the mission is a failure.

Pre-Mission Setup: Before starting this mission, get a sniper rifle and the
rocket launcher.

Strategy: When you arrive at the bar, use the sniper rifle to kill the front-
door guards. Before reaching the DBP Security building, use the rocket launcher
to destroy the car inside of the fenced area. This will kill most of the
security guards. Use any weapon of your choice to kill the remaining guards.
When the two guards flee on motorcycles, use a vehicle to ram them until they
fall off the motorcycle and then run them over.

Tip: Ignore the Securicar chasing you and concentrate on killing the guards on
the motorcycles.

********************************************************************************
5.6.3 'Cop Land'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Bar Brawl' mission.

Description: Take Lance to steal two police uniforms by getting two officers to
follow you into the lock-up in Vice Point. After acquiring the uniforms, find a
police car and drive to the North Point Mall. Go to the Tarbrush Café in the
mall and plant a bomb. Once the bomb explodes, you will have a wanted level of
5. You and Lance need to then return to the Vercetti Estate on Starfish Island.
If Lance is killed before you reach the mansion, the mission is a failure.

Once you complete this mission, the Vercetti Estate will begin to generate money
like the other assets in the city (see the Assets and Asset Missions Walkthrough
section). The maximum amount generated is $5000 per day.

Strategy: When the mission starts, drive to the area near the lock-up and get a
wanted level of 2 by running over a cop. When the cops begin to follow you,
drive into the lock-up and they will follow you in. This will eliminate your
wanted level. When the door reopens, get into a police car and drive to the
mall. When you arrive at the mall, enter via the southeast entrance. After
entering the mall, the Tarbrush Café is on your right. Go into the café, plant
the bomb and run as fast as possible to the same door you entered. Once the
bomb explodes, the police will start shooting at you. Once you exit the mall,
jump the fence to get to the lower level of the plaza, pick up the police bribe
(which will lower the wanted level to 4), and get into the car parked there. At
this point Lance may or may not be with you and get into the car. Do not worry
if he is not in the car (ignore the game message indicating you left him
behind). Drive to the Pay 'n' Spray in Vice Point to remove your wanted level.
Once you have removed it, if Lance is in the car, simply drive to the Vercetti
Estate. If he is not in the car, drive back to the mall to pick him up and then
drive to the Vercetti Estate.

Tip: There is a police car parked on the east side of the lock-up, behind the
wall.

********************************************************************************
5.6.4 'Cap the Collector'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Cop Land' mission and after all assets
are owned and all asset missions are completed.

Note: This mission starts at The Print Works in Little Havana and not the
Vercetti Estate.

Description: Kill the Mafia gang members on motorcycles (3 motorcycles with 2
gang members on each) that are going to each of the assets you own and taking
the money. The gang members will tax the assets in the following order: The
Boatyard, Sunshine Autos, The Malibu Club, Cherry Popper Ice Cream Factory,
Kaufman Cabs, Inter Global Films. (Note: The Print Works has already been taxed
when the mission begins and The Pole Position Club is not a taxed asset.)

Strategy: Wait at one of the assets for the gang members to arrive and use a
vehicle to ram each of the gang members until they fall off the motorcycle and
then run them over.

Tip: Before starting this mission, collect the money from each of the assets.

********************************************************************************
5.6.5 'Keep Your Friends Close...'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Cap the Collector' mission.

Description: This mission consists of three parts. The first part occurs after
a conversation with Lance and Sonny. In this part, you need to guard the safe
in the office and kill any gang members that approach. After awhile, a message
is displayed stating that you need to kill Lance. Walk out of the office and
you will have a conversation with Lance. After the conversation, you need to
chase Lance up the staircase to the roof and kill him. This is the second part
of the mission. Once Lance is dead, you have to return to the office and when
you arrive, a conversation with Sonny will occur. When the conversation ends,
you must kill Sonny. This is the last part of the mission. When Sonny is dead,
the story is over.

Pre-Mission Setup: Before starting this mission, get some grenades.

Strategy (part 1): When you start the mission, pick up the Colt Python in the
office. Stand next to the LEFT side of the desk (since the gang members will
come up the stairs or from the right) and crouch (to make it more difficult to
be shot). Use the Colt Python to kill the gang members that approach the
office.

Strategy (part 2): After the conversation with Lance, SPRINT up the left stairs
of the balcony and stay close to the wall. Kill the gang members on the balcony
and begin chasing Lance. DO NOT STOP! Ignore the gang members that you
encounter and continue to run to force Lance to the roof. When you reach the
roof, use the boxes on the left or right side for cover and use the Colt Python
to kill the gang members and Lance (it takes 3 shots to kill him). Be careful
not to stand too close to the red barrels since they will explode if hit by
gunfire. Once Lance is dead, run to the bottom of the staircase that leads to
the roof and retrieve the health, body armor and M4.

When you reach the
roof, run behind the boxes on the left or right side and then run to the
helipad. DO NOT RUN DIRECTLY TO THE HELIPAD since the red barrels will explode
when hit by gunfire. When you reach the helipad, move toward the railing where
Lance is at, and throw grenades onto him (it takes 2 to kill him). Be sure to
keep your distance from the railing so that you are not shot (the edge of the
yellow striped portion is a good location). Once Lance is dead, run to the
bottom of the staircase that leads to the roof and retrieve the health, body
armor and M4.

Strategy (part 3): After the conversation with Tony, go to the top of the main
stairs close to the railing, crouch down (by pressing the L3 button) and use the
M4 to kill Tony. It will take a significant amount of shots to kill him, but
eventually he will die.

Strategy (part 3): After the conversation with Tony, run up the LEFT stairs of
the balcony and stay close to the wall (do not use the right stairs since gang
members will come down the hall). Throw grenades onto Tony to kill him (it
takes 3 to kill him).

Tip: Ignore the Mafia gang members stealing money from the safe.

Tip: There is a health icon on the roof next to the helipad.

Tip: There is an adrenaline pill in the southeast corner of the roof.

Tip: There is a health icon, body armor, M4 and Shotgun located in the room at
the bottom of the staircase, next to the exit to the pool area. Make sure you
pick up the health and body armor before starting the mission and any time your
health is close to 000.

6. Non-Storyline Missions Walkthrough
********************************************************************************

********************************************************************************
6.1 Avery Carrington
********************************************************************************

These missions are started from the construction site in Vice Point and are
indicated by an 'A' on your on-screen radar and map.

********************************************************************************
6.1.1 'Four Iron'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Riot' mission.

Description: Drive to the Jocksport store in Vice Point to pick up the golf
outfit and then drive to the Leaf Links Golf Club. Upon entering the course
through the main entrance, you will lose all of your weapons at the metal
detector. Once inside of the course, go north to the drive range. When you
reach the driving range and are spotted, the property owner's bodyguards will
attack you and he will try to escape. The property owner must be killed before
he escapes. If the property owner gets away, the mission is a failure.

Pre-Mission Setup: Before starting this mission, get a sniper rifle. If you
have not completed the missions to obtain the sniper rifle, any auto-aim gun
will also work, but not as well.

Strategy: Park a car next to the fence to the left of the entrance, jump on top
of the car and then jump the fence into the course. This will let you enter the
course and keep your weapons. Get to the driving range using the golf cart just
inside of the course's main entrance. Once you reach the driving range, if you
are using the sniper rifle, you can shoot the property owner from a distance
before you are ever spotted. If you are using an auto-aim gun, use it to lock
onto the property owner and shoot him. However, once you are spotted, the
bodyguards will attack you and the property owner will flee. Try to kill him
before he reaches his golf cart. If he reaches his golf cart, quickly get into
one of the golf carts next to the driving range and drive to the entrance. You
MUST reach the entrance before he does. When the property owner gets there and
gets out of his golf cart, kill him by either shooting him or running him over
with your golf cart.

********************************************************************************
6.1.2 'Demolition Man'
********************************************************************************

Available: After the completion of the 'Four Iron' mission.

Description: Go to the Top Fun van located down the road to the south of the
construction site. Once inside, you will take control of an RC Raider where you
must drop a bomb into 4 barrels (indicated by a pink marker and a purple blip on
